Default Dead kitten

Again, upping the level of scammer-bait. This is obviously not a real post.

Heh.

I'm trying to determine with reasonable certainty whether we're dealing with a person or a bot here. I'm leaning in the direction of a bot, but I'm curious as to how closely humans are involved.

My last post did get a bite from the usual scammer who's been plaguing us recently:

But then I realized that my item description was maybe too car-like, and perhaps the scammer just isn't fluent enough in English (or car-speak) to know what a trundle dampener isn't. So let's be a tad more obvious about it...

EDIT: All that having been said, they're interchangeable between 2d and 4d, for all vehicles '94-'01. The '90-'93 unit was borrowed from the FWD 323, and is not compatible with the later cars.

Only to 01?!

Nah, I've seen them in later models.

They'll work on the '02-'05 models if the muffler bearings are also retrofitted to the later model. But it all has to be done as a package. Parts from either side of the swap are not backwards compatible.

Joe, from the bottom of my heart: thank you.
It brings me joy to see other people despising scammers/spammers as much as I

Also, in the line of "feedback from management," this email which I got a few minutes ago:

To everyone who takes the time to report these folks: Thank you.

Yes, we hear you. And, yes, we're banning these spambots as quickly as they are reported. This one got a PM off to a member before I'd banned it for a reply to my own bait-post.

Please keep these reports coming. It's the best took we have in terms of staying on top of them until we figure out how to eliminate them entirely. Which... may take some time. Internet Brands, the owner of this forum, cares only slightly less about scammers in its midst than Breakneck thinks the Democrat party in the US cares about people selling children into sex-slavery.

Also, this is the post which made me realize that 2004 was 18 years ago.

There are people driving cars the same year as mine who had not been born when it was built.

I'm going to need to have a drink and take that in for a moment.

Maybe several drinks.

Not that'd be different from any other evening, of course...

Interestingly, the Trundle Dampener post scored a second bite. Same basic scam, but different writing style and with a phone number instead of an email address this time.

Meanwhile, nobody offering to sell me a dead kitten. So I think that a human is at least looking at these thread titles.

EDIT: this one specifically offered me a "94 Trundle Dampener". That's not the exact wording of the title of the original post. So a human is definitely involved at least in this later one.
