Default Hood Vents

Howdy Turbo Cats,

Anyone got a set of hood vents lying around they want to sell? I've got a spare hood to chop up now, so I just need the vents! A way to stamp louvers directly into the metal would be acceptable too, but that appears to be a stupidly expensive option. I am arguably stupid, but not rich.

Any specific vents you're looking for?
Since you're on a budget, I've got a set of the Subaru hood vents,
same as the ones featured in this thread: Hood Vents Subaru - Miata Turbo Forum - Boost cars, acquire cats.

I had been leaning towards one of the laser cut sheets of aluminum you bend the fins up on and rivet in simply because they seem to have taken over the market, but paying in the ballpark of $300 for those was just too rich for my blood.
Are the Subie vents metal? The Phoenix sun would eat plastic vents in no time.

Ah, nuts. I appreciate the offer but I'm afraid they wouldn't survive the summer here :(

Is there a pattern you could just send to SendCutSend? They seem to be reasonable and fast. I made some 48 tooth rings for a car and they were $6 each.

I'm not making any turbo heat in my engine bay yet but they survived some summer track days at Inde Motorsports Ranch as well as several years of lapping at my local tracks over here, FWIW.

Those are the exact ones I have for sale.

To OP: They literally an OEM part on Subaru WRXs. If the late model Subarus are crumbling to dust in your neighborhood, then maybe you're onto something. If not, you might want to rethink your assumptions

How much are you looking to spend? I have a set of the original Singular hood vents (bare aluminum) I might consider selling.

I don't have garage space for my Miata, so it's going to be outside in Phoenix, 24/7. I'm glad that Stock's vents are holding up well; I've lived in Phoenix for decades and given the choice between metal or plastic on an "outside" car's horizontal surface I'll pick metal every time. I could send you examples from my daily driver if you want but that seems more appropriate for a different thread. Those are really sharp looking vents though!

That's exactly who Sean suggested when we were chatting a few days ago! If I had a pattern that's exactly what I would have done, but I don't so I didn't. And I thought someone might have something lying around they weren't using. Honestly I'm surprised (and grateful!) for the attention this thread has gotten after how quiet things were with my "WTB Hood" posting.

I was hoping to keep it around $100, honestly. I'd have probably just ordered something off of Amazon but they were all plastic. I know it's a complete garbage budget for vents. :(
