Hi, looking for someone to with modify my “cage” (hard dog with a nascar bar and a height extension with A pillar bars) or make a new one. On a very limited budget, but will need to pass tech, so needs to be DOM tubing.

 

What is your budget? Do you know how to weld?

 

As little as possible. I have a quote for $1800, but I d like it to be cheaper. I’ve only welded once, and I’d rather trust my life with an experienced welder.

 

So i guess at this point we need more info. Why do you want a cage? Is it to get through tech? Do you need a cage or would a roll bar suffice. Miata cage has a kit for around 1100 but then you need to have it welded.

 

I have a roll bar that was “made into a cage”. See attached. I want to run with SCCA in a few years after I get comfortable in the car

 

The base of my current “cage” is a bolt in Hard Dog that someone has welded a 10” extension onto, them put forward bars to the foot wells in a bad area. It’s a bolt in, but I really want something to protect my sides and head in case of a side impact or roll over. The previous owner decided to cut the A pillar in half as well.
