I'm sure it's a long shot, but figured someone on here might have an SAFC collecting dust somewhere. I can't bring myself to pay $200 on ebay for one, and I'm having trouble finding one for sale on a forum.

I knew I was gonna get ragged on for asking, lol. I bought a beat up 271k mile '91 d21 pickup that I'm going to turbo as cheap as I can. Apparently Nissan ECU's seem to respond pretty well to them, they have a tach output on the display (which my base model truck doesn't have) and I can't justify a $800 megasquirt on a $800 truck.

I'll check out NicoClub.

Yeah they do. I almost got one back in the day for my sr20 (before there were cheap standalone options that could support the CAS setup...)

Thats why I sent you to Nicoclub. Also check zilvia.net. Any of the major 240 websites probably will have some.

No, they dont. SAFCs have no use on anything ever.

A lowly MS-I is infinitely better than an SAFC and its easier to make work.

You can make a MS-1 2.2 for $150.

Maybe you can make a megasquirt for $150, but I can't. It's enough trouble for me to figure out how to install a PNP unit, I'm certainly not building my own.

I had a VAFC on my old SC S2000 and I was very pleased with how well it worked and how easy it is to tune fuel.

http://14point7.com/UAFC.php

Same principal, but $125 new and you tune it with a laptop and a real table (none of that high zone-low zone bullshit). One way or another they all do the same thing, lie to the ECU.

Compatible with any 0-5 volt load sensor (TPS/MAP/MAF).

Check DSM forums too. They are in every other one I see.

Edit: There's one on DSMTuners for $100.

Thanks man, that place appears to be a crappy piggyback goldmine. Picked one up, hopefully it goes well.

I'll try to make a build thread as things start coming together a bit. Hopefully some here can appreciate it, the hardbody guys just seem to think I'm weird for not slamming it on chrome 20"s.

Pick up an MPX4250 map sensor and use it instead of the TPS. There are tons of write-ups on the internet on how to wire it in and set up the SAFC.

My pleasure. I'll even cop to having one in my last Talon, albeit only for fine tuning in conjunction with my chipped ECU. Definitely interested in seeing how your project goes.
