You got a pic of what this plate looks like? I have a blown up Torsen with a hole in the back of the carrier and the only plate thing in the carrier that I see is this thing

actually sorry, it's the whole carrier. the rear piece that mounts to the car. i got a RX7 at the moment, but not sure if i want to put it on because the fins are not as agressive. i'm wondering if it would cause overheating issues in the diff later on down the line.

I think the type of diff has more to do with whether it will overheat than the fins on the carrier. I know clutch diffs with lots of preload will overheat pretty fast. Torsens don't tend to generate enough heat.

yeah i'm putting a kaaz clucth type LSD in it. my friend with an 86 corolla has had issues with his clutch type overheating and burning out.

I think the RX7 diff has a little more volume.

i have a RX7 on it right now, but the fin design doesn't seem as efficient as the one on the miata. my diff is going to cost 1k+ roughly i dont want to take the chance of it getting fried.
