If you wanna drive to Oregon we have an 60k NB rolling shell for cheap. Everything on it is absolutely gorgeous. I have never seen zinc coating on bolts in such perfect condition. NB front subframe and entire PS system, NA front knuckles, and complete rear suspension minus the RR knuckle. Ok so it's not really rolling, but it is available.

And by cheap I mean nearly free.

BigEasy 12-26-2018 05:58 PM

I have a set of NB shocks sitting around. Dont know the exact mileage, but they are in good condition and did fine on the car when i bought it. PM me if you're interested.

I might be able to figure something out. I'll need to figure out a truck/trailer solution, but this might be what I'm looking for. For clarification, what does the car need to run/drive? Would you be willing to pick parts off for me, or is the deal I just take what you have off your hands?

Thank you

curly 12-27-2018 01:00 PM

whole car $300. All 8 arms are present, working sport brakes, both subframes, subframe braces, wiring harnesses, and complete PS system. Not much else. Carpet, interior, dash, all gone.

To make it ROLL, it needs a RR knuckle, hub, wheel bearing. We have a spare we could include for a little extra, cause we gotta press in a wheel bearing and hub.

To make it DRIVE, it needs the above, plus a diff, driveshaft, transmission, and engine.

if it came with a diff, id rent something and pick it up, but i really only need the complete front brakes, shocks/springs and all 8 arms from that car.

Id be willing to pay for shipping if we could work something out.

Thanks, btw

jrmotorsports55 12-28-2018 05:52 AM

I have a full set of arms listed in the for sale section. Open to offers. Shipping will probably be pretty costly to you, as I am in OH.

thumpetto007 01-07-2019 07:43 AM

Still need everything listed, thanks

concealer404 01-07-2019 07:58 AM

Sounds like a job for The Parts Group.

I checked with them, they only had one item on my list, and we couldn't come to an agreement on pricing.

concealer404 01-08-2019 07:51 AM

So, you're looking for free stuff, delivered, then? Their prices are great.

Monk 01-08-2019 10:05 AM

I'm still trying to figure out if I have the time to drive to Oregon and buy that shell off Curly.

curly 01-08-2019 10:31 AM

We just parted out an NA and an NB. The guy who took the NA is caging it and racing it in Lucky dog, and is interested in doing the same with the NB. So he’s in no rush, and it’s available to others in the mean time. As I told Ed, we have the one missing RR knuckle we need to throw a bearing/hub on and it’ll be a roller. Has my NA front knuckles and upper front arms with ARP studs, full PS system, and we could include the underchassis braces too.

Damn, damn shame what happened to that car. Motorcycle took out the rear pretty bad, snapping the spare tire mount out of the trunk. The fronts not too bad, but a trailer hitch punched a square hole in the bodywork. Oregon is a mecca for amazing used cars. No rust (aside from coast) and no sun fading/damage. So I’ve seen a lot of good Miatas, but this one was so damn clean. Must have been fair weather only and garages. I kept all the bolts we removed cause the zinc coating is beyond factory perfect on it.

matrussell122 01-08-2019 03:21 PM

pm'd on the chassis

thumpetto007 01-08-2019 09:59 PM

A big thank you to jrmotorsports55 for all the control arms.

No problem.

sometorque 01-09-2019 01:43 PM

I'll have a set of MSM billies this weekend ready to go, but there's a 25% surcharge for Mt.net members with negative cats.

thumpetto007 01-13-2019 01:59 PM

I have no leads on a diff pumpkin.

matrussell122 01-13-2019 02:40 PM

I have a blown 1.6 diff you can have for free if you want it

thumpetto007 01-13-2019 03:42 PM

Sorry, I'm not sure how to write what I want without amphiboly. I need a complete, working diff, that fits NB2 axles and NB2 driveshaft. I'll be selling my 3.6 Giken setup as the pumpkin, and everything inside. I hope that is more clear.

Thanks for the response, though.

concealer404 01-13-2019 03:55 PM

For those of us playing along at home.... how many dollars do you have allotted for such a thing?

i have about 500 dollars left for oem replacements.

An additional small amount for an alignment.

boileralum 01-14-2019 03:32 PM

I have an open 4.3 pumpkin. What's the ZIP? You can have it for $20 plus shipping & handling.

thumpetto007 01-15-2019 02:36 AM

84721

I found a local torsen I might be able to get, but the seller hasn't got back to me yet.

Your 4.3 is from a 1.8 car? I have new axles and driveshaft, so I'd like to reuse them.

boileralum 01-15-2019 07:55 AM

Yes, from a 1.8, and I drove on it from SC to IN when I bought my 99 and it was fine, no noises or anything.

boileralum 01-15-2019 07:58 AM

Shipping would probably be in the neighborhood of $50 after I buy a sturdy box. LMK if you are interested.

I'm just going to give this local guy another day or two, then ill let you know. In your opinion, what would you rather see/have in a potential car purchase... a welded diff or an open diff?

I updated the first post with another item I need...the oem fake oil pressure gauge/face. Right now mine is just an empty spot covered by american flag duct tape.

concealer404 01-15-2019 01:15 PM

Definitely welded. Nothing tells me a car was well-cared for like a welded diff. Guaranteed to be a nice cream puff that was never abused.

Good point. :) I guess I figured that the new owner will probably swap in a torsen anyways, and it might be fun for them in the meantime.

Cream puff in the add always makes me skeptical of the car

thumpetto007 01-16-2019 03:28 PM

Thank you boileralum for the diff!

Updated first post with a soft top, drivers side door card, and drivers seat.

thumpetto007 01-31-2019 02:31 PM

Well, diff hasnt shown up, and cant get a hold of the guy, so I still need a diff.

I had a (sort of) local source to pick up a brand new soft top, front brakes, and door card, paid a deposit, the guy is ghosting me.

Im willing to drive 4 hours in one direction (from cedar city, ut) to meet for parts, please help me out, I really need to get my miata back to stock, sold, so I can pay back some of my debt mountain and can move back home.

Thanks

thumpetto007 02-09-2019 12:46 AM

Still need a 1.8 diff pumpkin, and the oem oil gauge face.

thumpetto007 02-11-2019 08:01 PM

Still waiting to find a 1.8 Diff pumpkin and oem oil gauge face.

Thanks everyone for your help

imperialgolem 02-13-2019 07:55 AM

I have NB shocks. PM me if you're interested

thumpetto007 02-13-2019 03:16 PM

Thanks for offering! A very kind person sent me msm bilsteins, so I'm good on shocks.

I do still need the oil gauge and diff, though.

thumpetto007 02-17-2019 11:56 AM

Still need a diff. Last major part Im waiting on, thank you.

thumpetto007 02-25-2019 12:24 PM

Still need a cheap diff.
