Well, if you're serious, a guy in Greece by the name of Panos makes these, and does ship stateside.

There was talk of a GB to the states a little while back, maybe lightyear can chime in.

I gotta say, that targa roof fastback top by the Greek guy looks pretty cool.

If you are willing to pay a price, why not just have a fiberglass specialist make you one? A good friend of mine could make one up in two weeks if he had to. Not saying he WILL do it for you though. He makes custom airplane parts and stays busy making parts for rich people. I'm sure there are other people willing to do it.

I bet a 1 off would be in the 2500, 3k range

I’ll start looking around for fiberglass specialists, I don’t know anyone in that field. would you be willing to ask him? I would pay 2500-3k for one

You should look into the Greece fastbacks. Completely functional trunks, no leaks (from reviews), optional t-tops, etc...

90LowNSlo 06-01-2018 10:17 PM

OMG that fast back kit on facebook looks amazing!

Zajicek 06-05-2018 12:53 AM

The Greek ones by Panos seem to me to be the best build quality so far, and they're $2450 shipped, but I've yet to see one in person. There is a wait list into the summer already, so I'd get in touch soon. The autokonexion were the way to go back in the day, but they're out of business. I know of one for sale locally in the PNW. You'll just have to keep an eye out for classifieds if you want one. Lightyear also makes one last I saw, couldn't find any info but dug into an australian aero forum and saw him posting there, found a link to a website of his maybe selling them, emailed the website and never heard back. There's some guy in the eastern U.S. selling them too [EDIT: CCP fabrication], look around and you can find the link, cant remember the name of the site. They sell other fiberglass parts too, hoods and doors and whatnot. Seems to be pretty good quality, iirc he had some initial issues fulfilling orders but got that all smoothed out. needs more press because he's impossible to find. There's the "fastback" that's not really a fastback on Rev9 or some such. You could always try to do it yourself, mine cost me 1500 including all the tools I had to buy. It sucked ass, but if you're better with the work it could turn out well and you could make money making more.

lightyear 06-05-2018 07:01 AM

I make fastbacks for NA's and NB's. Depends on how much of a hurry your in as I have just started selling them and have a few on order.

I haven't started marketing them as yet as I still have to work out how many a can supply per month. Plus shipping needs to be looked into further. The price to send one to the east coast was expensive, but to send a container load, even a part container worked out pretty cheap. I am hoping to have the fastbacks ready for proper production in the next few weeks. I'm sorry if I didn't reply to any emails, I don't check the Lightyear email acc as I haven't set up the page properly and haven't got to that stage of taking orders properly just yet. There is a lot to do, but it's getting close now. At least they are being made and all the little details are being taken care of.

Please document fitment and such for us. I've been considering ordering one, but after my experience with their normal hardtop, i'm waiting to see what Lightyear comes up with first.

There's an Autokoexenon one in Ottawa, Canada. Asking $2000 CAD (about $1550 USD). Check out the add here;

Is there a chance you can do a group buy by region? I'm sure northern CA and southern CA would both have enough interest to have a 20+ order bulk shipment make sense

Couple of other questions:
1) On the trunk, some images you supply show a ducktail spoiler and some do not. Are those your two options? Are there any other options that we can make?
2) What about replacement windows? Are you using some sort of polycarbonate? If those windows yellow or get scratched will you provide an option for replacement windows or at least the template so that we can make them ourselves?

Balto 06-13-2018 07:59 AM

I would totally be willing to go in on a group buy for that fastback top depending on the price. It looks amazing.

lightyear 08-02-2018 08:08 AM

Hi guys, been busy with production and driving...
To answer your questions-
1. The NA trunk comes with a built in spoiler. The trunk was so flat I didn't like the look of it. The NB trunk has a nice shape that flows with the fastback, so has no spoiler. However, any aftermarket spoiler can be fitted.
2. The window's are UV rated polycarbonate (Lexan). I can offer replacements, or a template.
I will look into a group buy in October/November.

Here is a video we just made, it is the guide to assemble and install. But gives you all the info you need.

What kind of price are we looking at? I need to know how much money to put aside for this.

lightyear 08-05-2018 04:27 PM

Hi, find my Facebook page Lightyear Composites, and find the post asking people to put there name down. We need to get numbers in each area to get the shipping prices down. Once we have a few in one area, I can get accurate shipping costs. Initial quotes are indicating the fastback inc shipping will cost well under $2000US delivered to the east coast. This is part or full container loads.

Love my Autokonexion one! I am sure you can chase one down. Mine is full carbon fiber so it’s more race car quality that street. It’s pretty thin and you can see pin holes of light through it.

Lightyear’s version looks to be similar. I’d feel good about that one too!

concealer404 08-08-2018 01:40 PM

For those of us that don't use Facebook, how do we proceed?

Balto 08-08-2018 05:07 PM

^This. I'm not on Facebook and definitely want to buy one.

lightyear 08-08-2018 05:28 PM

Hi, you can email me at - David@lightyearcomposites.com.au
The website is still under construction. I will get accurate shipping costs soon. And we will take international orders in early October.

Balto 08-08-2018 05:38 PM

Email sent. I included my full name and address.

Still dreaming.
