Default WTB Megasquirt for 1990 Miata (Oregon USA)

I have a 1.8 Engine Swap. I have no idea how that factors into this other than I probably still have the original engine harness.

I have a MS3 pro for sale in the classifieds. $900 shipped from Seattle. It is plug & play for your ECU harness.

My budget is probably around 400-500ish. I might just need to build one.
Speediuno sounds super interesting. I'm not finding a lot of documentation for it.

If you have the skill and a tighter budget, build yourself a MS3X. It should be about $650. Don't go with a MS2 or anything else if you want much in the way of tuning help from this community. Almost everyone is running MS3 these days.
