I was originally going to get a momo competition wheel to replace the world's worst oem steering wheel that came with the NA. But the cost of quality hubs has changed my mind.

If you have a nice condition NB wheel sitting around let me know what you'd like for it.

I am still looking. I do have an offer from someone local with a wheel/airbag from an 03 for $50. I'd really prefer a 99-00 set though, and he's been difficult to coordinate schedules with so I haven't closed the deal yet.

On shipping, I do know that airbags need to go ground and I think that they are considered hazardous material so you need special clearance and packaging to ship them legally.

 

I've never had issues shipping airbags.. Just be quiet about it.

 

Mine's an 01 anyway.

 

I'm open to 01-05 wheels, the price just has to be right as that's not the ideal.

yup. I'd argue that the 01+ airbag actually looks better too

 

Yes. Purely cosmetic. In a base model NA like I have, the appearance of a wheel with a plain nardi badge fits better than a chrome winged Mazda logo. Just a personal preference.

 

TL;DR

Have 99 with with air bag. PM if you want it.

 

Got one today. However if anyone has a blown NA airbag they would like to cut the connector and wires off of and send to me cheap that would be good. I plan to splice that onto the NB airbag so I don't need to cut up the car's harness.
