The search is over. I found what I was looking for on Zilvia. $265 shipped for something looking to be in decent condition.


Looking for a relatively cheap used turbo.
An old one from an SR20DET would be fine and is more or less what I had in mind.

I've been checking ebay, craigslist and zilvia. These mythical $150 turbos don't seem to exist. I haven't seen anything sub $500 after shipping that wasn't broken so far.

 

They do exist, you just have to be patient and wait for them to come up. If you want to be cheap, the trade off is the amount of time you have to spend looking for deals.

 

I used facebook to find my friend a T25.
Search T25 turbo and a relevant date, like Jan and dec 2016.. I found half a dozen and chose what looked best.

 

They're out there. I was on the hunt for one this past month, got impatient and spent 2 hours under a Saab 500 buried in the back of a junkyard pulling what turned out to be at t25 with a trim I didn't want. Next day an SR20DET turbo popped up on zilvia for $150 and I snapped it up. Wasted good money and bashed knuckles on impatience.

Thanks for the input guys. I finally found one on zilvia. Paid $265 with shipping for a decent condition T25. Not the cheapest price by far, but the best one I've come across in the few weeks I've been searching.

Side note, my zilvia username was "miatas are better"
