Default WTB: Window regulators

My Window motors/regulators work, but they are SLOW and won't roll all the way up with the doors closed. They get stuck against the seals the last 1/2 inch.

I'm also open to buying new if you know where to get them.

Thanks guys!

Someone is making replacement rollers for the windows. Replacing them if they are broken or soft and removing the old, hardened grease by scraping it out of the rails and replacing with fresh grease helps enormously. I also pulled the small cover off the wire spool on the regulator and removed hardened grease and added oil and fresh grease. Don't forget to grease the leading edge rubber channel as well.

I have a good set of complete power window regulators from my NA; if these are what you are looking for PM me. Tom

Have you done any troubleshooting to confirm the regulators are the issue? My experience has been that the power switches don't do a very good job of handling the current for the motors and cause excessive voltage drop.

On my NA I ran a dedicated 10AWG wire from the battery to a set of relays. The original switches are now only responsible for switching the current necessary to trigger the relays. That combined with replacing the window bushings cured all of my power window problems.

So I've ordered some Delrin door bushings, I plan to clean out the channels and regrease everything. No, I haven't done any troubleshooting, but I did plan to replace the switches on the console as well.

Another question though...I bought an IL motorsports centerconsole (with the cupholders moved to the right of the shifter) and I like the look of the Jass Performance window switches but there seems to be a compatability issue with the shape of where the switches mount. I thought the NB Miatas had the same shape to mount but know they have a different connector. Any chance I can splice my old connector to the new switch? Will the NB switch even mount properly?

Thanks again guys for all the useful info.
