Picked up some 205/50R15 Maxxis RC-1's so I can use these during qualifying sessions/races and save the Hoosiers for the main races that have enough people to win Hoosiers in. Since these easily last three times as many heat cycles as Hoosiers it will help out a lot.

Also stacked up the 205 R7's next to them for lols. Both sets of 4 unmounted, the Hoosiers have more than half a tire width more height.

Even when comparing Hoosiers with Maxxis or NT01 of the same physical size the Hoosier is still like $100 more expensive. Probably that way because of the compound, reputation and need to support their contingency program. Or they just charge a premium because it's what wins races. Who knows.

So. Update. Determined that between selling off a bunch of parts and a ton of tires it was possible to pull the trigger on the last handful of parts for the next stage of this build. More coming on that soon, along with some for sale threads.

Walbro 190HP is in. Didn't use the sleeve that came in the kit, wasn't sure if E85 would make it start to disintegrate or not. Pretty sure it's just for sound deadening which I don't care about at all.

Now I have everything here from my 949 Racing order. The coilovers even showed up nearly two weeks ahead of schedule so I am pretty stoked about that.

And this past Saturday my dad and I finally spotted a truck on Craigslist. Drove 12 hours round trip to Long Beach to get it, and luckily the transaction went smooth and the seller was not your typical shady Craigslist person so that was good.

Ended up finding the holy grail of Powerstrokes, and driving it is 'Merica as ****, it's awesome.

Schwing. Grats, that is nice. Manual trans is very uncommon, is it not? I drove a friend's 6sp F350 4x4 on a camping trip and liked it, but not sure I'd want to tow with it.

They are definitely a lot harder to find than an auto. The autos are the weakest point of this year range and grenade more than I'd like. The 6 speed manual is indestructible at reasonable power levels. After the mods I have planned I'll probably be making around 300 HP and 700 TQ which is a walk in the park for these things.

I haven't towed with it yet but I can already tell from the drive back through the hills I'd much rather haul with a manual. I've done quite a few miles pulling like a 26 ish foot enclosed bumper pull with an E350 van with the 6.0l and 4 speed auto. I hate trying to dick around with the throttle in an attempt to get the torque converter to lock up while going up hills. If you can't get it to lock while going up a grade the trans will start to overheat in a matter of minutes even with a large cooler on it.

Just got these Longacre mirrors by using some of my Winding Road Racing contingency money. I can see so much more now than the stock mirrors, and it'll improve aero a tiny bit. I really like how this turned out. Just drill two holes and you're done, took 30 minutes to do both sides. This is a no points modification for NASA PT/TT if anyone is wondering.

Scrambling now. Dyno tuning going down tomorrow evening. Track event Saturday/Sunday for shakedown.

Then after this, another scramble to do the SADfab delrin/poly/bronze NASA bushing kit. I will have back to back tests on the same track within two weeks with the only change being the bushing kit. I can tell you that my ES poly bushings are definitely super hard to move right now. I can press the hub downwards, but I can't lift it back up without a jack... pretty excited for delrin goodness.

Yesterday my dad and I:
Removed Roadstersport 3 Exhaust
Hung Racing Beat muffler section
Prepped for dropping the trans, all trans bolts are removed, shifter pulled, stuff disconnected etc etc.
New clutch hydraulics and 949 Racing clutch line. Goodbye pigtail bullshit.

Today I'm working on getting the Xidas in (one down, three to go right now, should be done in like an hour tops) then when my dad gets here we are dropping the trans.

To do:
Clutch/Flywheel/Transmission install
M-Tuned/SuperMiata coolant reroute
Replace rubber fuel line with e85 compatible Gates Barricade
ID1000's and Flex Fuel sensor
Put in base trim model stock sway bars/endlinks
Check alignment
Get tuned by Tony at UMS Tuning

I will have solid back to back tests of 91 pump gas and e85 so we can see what type of difference it makes on a stock (besides exhintake) NA8 engine. It has about 115k miles and has never had the head off.

A bit more progress. Stayed up till 4AM working on stuff. It's 9AM now, heading back out to the garage shortly. It's going to be close to get this done and on the dyno.

All coilovers are installed.
ID1000's are in with new e85 resistant fuel line
Flex fuel sensor is in the return line
Base model sway bars are in
Flywheel is on and torqued down
Clutch cover bolts were too long, my 13b-REW flywheel has a removable friction surface that acts as a 1/4" spacer so the shoulder bolts bottom out in the Miata flywheel before they get tight. Need to take a trip to the hardware store.

Reroute is in. Deleted heatercore routing and put in a Full Function Engineering temp sensor I had laying around in case I want to use that in the future.
