I won't be at the strip again until I have traction control running and practice some more launches.

1 and 2 piece interchange. Keep the ***** with the housings (that sounds dirty). The CV joint can go on either side. Rock Auto has boot kits.

as in replace the 2piece with a 1piece into same uprights/diff?

Yes that. Or 2 piece back in if 1 piece breaks.

*****? You mean don't mix them up side to side?

They're actually supposed to stay in the same groove of the housing they came out of. They will have created unique wear marks. I don't know how much that "really" matters though.

Edit durrrrrr should have hit refresh.

Didn't know you could use two-piece axles in a diff that was originally set up for one-piece

They will be backup axles so probably not a big deal.

They are. Obviously, you pop the stub axles out of the diff if you want to use 1 piece axles.

The key to getting into the 13s better yet high 12s is to slip the clutch on the launch. I was just dropping the hammer with 2 step on the launch and was hoping bad. If you slip it until you roll past the tree then punch it.

Didn't work for me. Slipped it past the tree, car finally hooked up, as soon as I WOT it just went back to violent wheel hop all the way into mid 2nd gear

Then when I set up LC and had timed boost and timing, I was using LC more for the timing and boost drop in 1st and 2nd than to actually make torque off the line, and that seemed to help.

And then the temps dropped and it was just useless

You were on all seasons right? My star specs would start sticking halfway through first and then it was just off to the races.

Yeah, I most likely have the worst tires for drag racing known to mankind.

Oh well. It's not like I was expecting to run 11's on a low 200's miata

Oh also, wore the HANS all day sunday with no issues. 3 inch shoulder belts worked fine for me, just took a little used to getting everything buckled up. Better safe than sorry I guess.

Auction car got dropped off at my grandmas where it will be living for a bit. Tow truck driver said it was leaking oil so I'm a little worried about the state of the engine. Maybe the head is OK. Either way, at least I have a Torsen to replace mine with before the track day next week. I won't be able to check on it until I get back from New Jersey.

Speaking of NJ, I hate this place. Humid, hot, and ugly. We went to a White Castle in Newark at like 11pm after we landed, food sucked and we definitely looked out of place, 6 white guys in khakis and polos.
