After much internal debating and a few false starts, I've finally gotten off of my *** and started the next project. The first part has been purchased:

I'm going to say that's a 911 shift boot...

EDIT: Yeah, that definitely looks like a 911 part.

IIRC older Porsches share a lot of similar parts with another car type.....
