This build is made of greatness. Sorry for the unfortunate current state of things. Now me and the mad mechanic have to tear apart the block and replace the piston rings you fried!

Gay quote from a childhood film... My appologies for hijacking threads ha. Car looks awesome by the way. Planning on a rebuild? 30psi would be insane.

You have me petrified. Now I'm thinking of selling my built bottom end, and going stock.

Did you ever find a definitive answer for why this happened in the first place? I read back through it again, but never saw a sure reason...

from what 4 other engine builders have told me, it was too tight of a clearance on the rod bearing.

Do you still have the clearances that the builder gave you?

I am about to puy my engine toghether this weekend and I want to make sure I dont make the same mistake. If my clearances come close to yours then I'll definetly send the block back to the shop.

Did you have the crankshaft machine? If so, the clearances @ the Rod Bearing might have been correct, but the failure was unevitable.

Excert from Text book.

DISTORTED CRANKSHAFT
Bearing failure which produces severe wear on both the upper and lower halves of the bearing are usually caused by excessive distortion of the crankshaft. This may be a result of unusually high loading conditions and excessive speed. A bent crankshaft will also produce this type of wear.

**** like this just happends

Better luck with your next build.
