Thanks Brian - always good to meet another miata fan! I'm not sure on the times - santa didn't come early and buy me a lap timer, but with stopwatch in hand, clocked a 1:42.3 during sat session 2. Right now, that's the best I can do - grab a timer and watch some vid, which I'm uploading now (or trying too). Can't wait for AMP to open!
Had some nasty vibration there - the manifold and DP finally cracked at PBOC and had to weld them up. During installation, seems the DP has a 1/8 clearance from the steering column and I bet that's where it's coming from during the right handers. It's LOUD and rpm dependant so I know it's not tire rub. Will have to fix before next time out - or get the new engine finshed and install then it'll be taken care of then.
In the meanwhile, got some stuff in from 949 (thanks Emilio)
84mm 9.5CR Supertechs, gates belt, ARP studs and bolts, supertech sstem seals - also got in a reman crank as the original was toast - have to send everything out to get balanced (crank polished too)

Ha, I'm in the second video. I am the idiot freezing my *** off waving you back on the track out of the pits.
That was quality when that guy pit into the chicane, essentially making a u-turn on a hot track. All the corner worker could get out over the radio was "Ohhhh myyyyy god!"
He got a firm talking to about the proper pit lane at Road Atlanta.

That pit land mistake is at 4:30 on the 2nd video BTW.
Couple questions: Are people that scared of the rain? Were you setting a speed limit for yourself on the straights? Seems like you give up after 100mph.
Also, your BOV/camera mic make it sound like your grinding gears every time you shift.

Thanks for posting up all the vids - love watching them. What did you change on your camera setup starting at post 120? Just the format (widescreen)? cuz the view is phenomenal. You need to ask Santa for a fire suit- your car justifies it, and if you ever needed it you'd be glad you were wearing it... maybe a neck device too?
The video makes it sound like synchros... an all to familiar sound of a transmission stating its the beginning of the end.
re: rain - a popular quote at drivers meetings:
Though I'll be the first to admit it's a wonderful way to learn car control.

The only thing dumber than racing in the rain is practicing in the rain.

One the firesuit - a full 3 layer is on my santa's list, including an extinguisher system, AIM logger, 275/35r15 hoosiers, Xida race, front 11.75" BBK.... you know - all the stuff we HAVE to have

Thanks - That's right - all airbrushed - and b/c the fire looks so 'real' I bought a 4L SPA AFFF extinguiser system today (check that off the wish list)- the alloy version with 6 nozzles. Now all I have to do is fine some place to shove it into. Weekend-racer has a 12% off $200 coupon through Jan 7th - code is EY12200 if you need something...

Does it have two output/nozzles? Mine did- put one in the engine bay and one aimed at the driver. Though I remember watching my buddy's GTI burn to the ground and the fire started at the rear (fuel tank/pump leak on the exhaust). He got out without any burns though, that's all that mattered really.

Nope - There are 6 single spray anodized red Alum nozzles and 5 T's I'll prob put 2 on each side of the engine compartment, 1 in the cabin/me, and 2 around the fuel tank (prob one in cab, the other in trunk by fill spout?? I'll have to research before installing

It's a one shot deal - it stays open - in design, I wouldn't think I'd be a good sales point if you'd have to sit there discharging the system hoping to extinguish the fire ball you might be in! I've yet to see one where you had to manually keep the system activated... then again, I don't pay attention that much either.
