maybe only 1 valve seal is leaking and the rest of the exhaust flow is burning it off by the time it gets through mani?

These pics are going to be terrible so bear with me

Manifold ports. Images are inverted, bottom of image is top of manifold.

The wet streaks are on the ceiling of the runners.

Exhaust ports. Sorry, this was done with a flashlight and cell phone

I tried to get a couple of angles on each of the ports. The second pic for #3 wasn't worth a damn so you only get one.

It's obviously the valve stem seals.

Tops of the ports are wet, bottoms are mostly dry and there is a very distinct set of streaks where the oil flows down the port and down the runner. Interestingly enough there is no or very little oil on the valves themselves.

There is no point in pulling the head and trying to send it back to have the stem seals replaced. I'll be down for weeks, plus head gasket, plus that drama. There is also no point in taking it to a shop to have $12.49 worth of seals replaced for some obscene sum of money worth of labor charges. Pretty much the only option that's worth a damn is doing it myself.

Compressed air and/or the rope trick, the "tool", and a focused evening, and it can be done before MRLS

I have a set of brand new supertech seals in my garage, I don't have a valve spring compressor tool.

How To: Change Valve Stem Seals With Head On

My big question is WHY is this leaking? These are valve stem seals, they are pretty hard to **** up. This makes me think something else is going on here.

Sorry, a DOHC valve spring compressor tool is one I don't have.

Where did the head come from? Is it a 949 one?

I'll probably just order one, they are $60-80 on Amazon. The question is can I compress the Supertech übersprings with any of those compressors with the head on.

Yes, that's where its from.

So what are you doing about Laguna? Going to put it back together and run it anyway?

Damn! That really sucks man. From the pics it looks like ALL of them are pouring oil. Seeing is you just got it tuned I'm pretty sure it has hardly any miles on it. With all of them leaking you need to figure out what's wrong. You didn't just get 8 bad valve stem seals and they all failed together that fast. Something screwy is going on to cause them all to fail that bad that fast. Don't laugh, but pop the valve cover and see if they even installed valve stem seals.

Whatever brand valve stems seals were used, I'd probably make sure those are NOT the brand that goes back in it. I'm curious which ones you used, so I can make sure I never use those.

And you called me a troll when I said I would question whoever assembled that head. If I were you I'd yank the head and check EVERYTHING before something more catastropic than a bad valve stem seal happens. At least then you'll have peace of mind knowing it's all right. As an example, if all 8 exhaust valve stem seals are leaking, I think this would warrant pulling the intake manifold and having a peak on that side too.
