Pics for the bros

Pictures are in no particular order. I decided to ditch the idea of using a flashed ECU and modified harness. I went ahead and went with a Holley unit, with its own engine harness. The only thing required on my end was the coil harness, everything else plugs into all the GM sensors on the engine. The car is wired for the most part, I need to order a few more things to finish that up. Still waiting to buy the clutch, bellhousing, and hydraulic throw out bearing conversion. Things have been going somewhat well with getting the car put back together. Two of the things that still have me stumped are the downpipe construction/exhaust routing and how to duct the radiator. My original thought was from the top and out the bottom, but after talking to several people I am starting to lean more towards pulling are from the bottom of the car and ducting the hot air out from the finish panel area. That may take a couple of attempts to get the right set up as far as that is concerned. The exhaust will be tackled once I get the clutch and **** that way I won't have to take the engine and trans back out when it shows up.

That was my original plan... but per NASA's CCR I can't do that, "15.21 Exhaust Exit The exhaust must exit behind and away from the driver."

I tried pleading my case that other sactioning bodies allow the exhaust to be dumped in other locations, i.e. fender exit, bumper exit, hood exit but they weren't having it. I was told it is an "industry standard to keep fumes from entering the cabin."

Since I plan on doing most of my racing with NASA I have to come up with something. Routing 4" pipe is tricky, under the car will end up getting 4" oval tubing, it's just that matter of getting from the turbo to the underside of the car with said 4" pipe lol

Holy *****.

Ignore my front of the cabin suggestion. I was thinking drag racer.

Check out Johnny C's thread. He did side pipes that cut through the passenger foot well. Could workwell.

Yes, he and I have been talking quite a bit, more on the lines of the radiator than the exhaust. His car has more sheet metal cut out in the fenderwell area. And I already had mine powder coated like a jackass lol I have a pretty good idea of how I want to do it. But again, I am waiting on the bellhousing to get the engine set in the car. It'll be tricky thats for sure. His setup came out really trick, and the side skirts fit right over the top and cover it makes it even cooler

My name is Ryan, picked up my 2016 Mustang GT with the PP on July 1st. Haven't done much; window tint, JLT intake, SCT x4 programmer. Next up will be long tubes and exhaust. I also bought a base model, so I will be looking into doing the MFT update over the factory 4" screen. This is my first Mustang and I absolutely love it. It is a blast to drive. I am also building a 1990 Mazda Miata with a single 88mm turbo LS, it has a Gforce 4 speed, and an 8.8 Ford IRS. I will post a couple pictures of it as well if anyone is interested. I picked the car up from powdercoat not to long ago and have been working on the wiring. I also have a 2015 Kawasaki ZX6R that I occasionally track.

Great forum, lots of good posts with great information! I look forward to being apart of the community!

Just saw this post on M6G

LAUGHED IRL!!

Small update, I redid the passenger side header. I tried building it when I didn't have the transmission in the car. So once I got the engine and transmission in their respective places, the header didn't fit so well. So I went ahead and started building another one last night. I moved the collector back and started on the merge pipe.

More pictures...

I got a few things to check off the parts list;
-The Holley ECU has been mounted and wired, tuning software has been loaded to the laptop and a base tune has been flashed to the ecu.
-McLeod SFI 6.1 aluminum bellhousing with TMS titanium inner liner.
-McLeod hydraulic throwout bearing.
-Tial V60 wastegate (which is ******* massive lol)
-billet fuel rails
-all of my AN fittings and hoses came in

And a few other odds and ends pieces like the GPS sending unit for the speedo, fuel level sending unit, shift lever, ect.. And as silly as it may sound there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel. Only a two large purchases left to make then my wallet can take a break for a while.

Other things that have been checked off the list include getting the rear diff mounted, rear subframe has been dropped off for media blasting then powder coat as well as the control arms. I ended up buying some new-to-me exterior panels, some of my stuff had gotten pretty banged up. So once the rear subframe and controls come back from powder coat, I will get the new bushings pressed in, I got new upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rods, boots for the rack, rack bushings, blah blah blah. Then set it on the ground it get the turd painted. It seems once I get paint on something it really drives me to get it knocked out. Without any more blabbing...
