I haven't been updating this as much as I should have. I've been working on this сука almost every day. I'm hoping to get it started in a few days.

Current state:

Reason for this post? More baller parts! Today was a good day - after a long wait XIDAs finally arrived. Apparently this is the latest and greatest iteration and has some improvements over the earlier versions.

Also, this is how you tighten the top nut. Just don't over do it (10ft/lbs)

Finally, 6ULs were finished getting sandblasted. It cost me a lot more than I expected (4 hours of sandblasting...) but end result is pretty awesome. In retrospect I should have asked just to get the front blasted - but they did the whole rim.

This is how naked 6UL looks like.

How are you going to coat the wheels? I like the sandblast look actually

Me too. They look super purposeful.
I'll primer them (etching primer -> filler primer -> normal primer (Rustoleum)), then paint white (DupliColor wheel paint) and 2-part topcoat (Glisten PC, same guys who make POR15)

Should be bomb-proof finish

it turned out a lot better in pictures. IRL the finish is alright but not nearly as good as a painted finish.

A bunch more pictures.

Steering rack plugs. Take stock power steering lines (the ones on rack). Cut them, take the ends off, tap & drill (M8 in this case) and you have plugs.

ID1000s installed

interior mostly done. Just gotta wire up boost gauge, swap to manual window regulators, install harness and seats.

Old fuel hose. lol.

Went with this hose - http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Ca...349_0006447045 should be good for E85 and locally available. 8ft replaced all my fuel lines (gas tank, fuel finter, 99 regulator + NA fpr) with about 1.5 ft left.

Wiring harness almost entirely hooked up. Just gotta do headlights (cut those wires off.. oops) and a few other things.

Roll-bar in. This was pretty easy since I just took it from old car and put it in new car - including all the cut trim panels and stuff. Decided to ditch both stock seat belts (---- the passengers)

Coolant reroute

Le sexy oil drain

water outlet using a hotness 90* fitting

prop valve (i gotta put the bracket that holds it back in)

deatschwerks dw300 going in

frame rails installed (quite a pita, surprisingly)

The stuff in the last post I did over the last 10 days or so. But yeah I'm pushing it hard. I need to have the car on the road - weather is great and with the amount of money spent, every day I'm not driving it feels like a waste.

Oh and did I mention my jeep (current DD) gets 15mpg? So yeah, I need this car on the road like NOW.

Nice, I'm doing the same thing with my mixing manifold and water return. Actually both water lines, although I dunno if you're feeding from the same place. Interesting location, behind the timing belt. Hope it stays put, looks fairly close to the timing belt in that picture.

Yeah I would be a bit afraid of routing coolant hoses behind the timing belt. Way to high of a chance for them to hit timing belt and be cut.

I'll probably take a sheet of aluminum and make a cover for it and attach it where the original cover was.

We'll see. Other idea was to reroute it under the engine and eeeeh that didn't look too good either.

It runs and drives! Had a few set-backs starting it up but worked them out.

I drove it to work while doing the flyin miata break in procedure. 6 speed feels weird. seating position feels weird. clutch feels weird. brakes need a ton of adjustment. but i'll get used to it. ararararar so many emotions i can't even type omfg.
