****, I may change my mind after this weekend. I've been having issues on the PS3, but it's usually fixed with a reset or retrying to connect. On the PS3, now the NetFlix browser tells me it cannot connect, try again later. Well **** them then, been doing this all weekend. OK, so I'll just have to watch on my computer... ******* Player issue on their site, "an unknown error has occurred"...
WTF! When I actually have time to relax and watch, I can't use it anywhere.

Netflix Emails 3% Discount To Apologize For Streaming Outage
To say sorry for a outage to their streaming service on Sunday night, Netflix sent around an apology email this morning with a link to click on to get 3% credit off your next bill. Reader Stephen says, "Interesting that Netflix is willing to offer the discount but only to those who open the email and click the link. Wouldn't the right thing be to give the discount to everyone?"
Rather than give a discount to customers who lost access as well as those who lost the potential to access the streaming, Netflix is giving the discount to a smaller subset. They're giving the credit to the customers who satisfy all the following conditions:

- the email didn't get stuck in their spam filter
- they opened it
- they read it
- either said "yup, I saw that outage" OR "I have no moral qualms about clicking this link" who did not at that moment experience catastrophic mouse failure with no backup mouse around
- and who clicked the link

Mission Successful.
Netflix’s stock lost a whopping 26% of its value after a million subscribers jumped ship over the price hike. CEO Reed Hastings is now apologizing for his handling of the price increase, appropriately calling his approach “arrogant,” and is now renaming its DVD by mail service “Qwikster.”

I've already been upset about SEVERAL scratched discs. They should take them out of circulation once reported, and they do nothing to make up for ruining your weekend rental.
We currently have streaming and two discs. One disc is strictly for my daughter's movies that she will either return immediately, or hold onto for weeks. The other disc we only return weekly so we have one movie to watch each weekend.
The streaming has nothing but crap movies most of the time, and they often change which TV series they have before you can finish watching the whole series. **** pisses me off.
We're already not getting our money's worth, and at least RedBox gets us physically out of the house so it's some fresh air and a family event.
Rate hike = "**** you" from me.

Heard the "Qwikster" story last night and cancelled my Netflix this morning. The streaming selection is really weak, some stuff is crappy quality, and I've had trouble getting it to work ever since the PlayStation password debacle. This pisses me off about as bad as Blockbuster did 10 years ago.

My story is similar to many in here. I got the free month, and enjoyed a couple decent war documentaries and such that I may have never seen had I not signed up for netflix, but my initial intent was to stop my evil internet piracy ways and pay for a service to stream my movies.
And like all of you, I realized the streaming section sucked, and I could not find a movie to watch instantly that wasn't over a year old. I cancelled at the end of my free membership and haven't considered going back since.
I don't need to watch TV that bad. I've been making more of an effort to get out of the damn house anyway..
