Agreed, dyno number competitions are silly. I see it all the time with local subaru guys, all using different dynos and claiming their 800whp wrx is the new record, etc. I've learned to go more by 1/4 mile ET or trap speed then by the dyno numbers.
Not that it isn't impressive. It's just silly to make these comparisons unless it is at LEAST on the same dyno.

hahahahaha, I love you 18.
Of course it doesnt prove anything, its a catchy thread title though.
The goal is quickest mx5 in the country with number plates (hopefully outright). Would you guys even click the thread if it said "Australias quickest mx5 attempt". We have a population 7% of america, who cares haha.
This car has done a few 1000m runway drag events and will do more, we will try to get it to the strip also.
Do trap speeds count if the car is babied off the line (within reason).

You keep bringing up the fact that this car made 297whp on a shitty log manifold with a 2" dp, etc. etc. Seems like that number might be a little high, that is all.
Keep up the good work, and I'm curious to see the results after you switch to EFR

Here is the exhaust.
It has 2 braces and a V band.
Its tucked as high as I could get it, a flat floor and diffuser will fit with ease and clearance.
It also has an extra piece of SS rod on each of the hangers to make sure it never moves.

I like that exhaust. Good job.
Except for that tab to the transmission. It will rip off after a while. Ask me how I know.
What you should do is a ring/band/whatever you call it around the pipe, attached to a bracket. Kinda like soviet did. Kinda like FM (I think) does.
Otherwise nice exhaust

Yeah, a welded bracket like that has been known to rip a section of the exhaust pipe out. Do something more like this:
Flyin' Miata : Turbochargers : Parts and upgrades : 1990-97 2.5" FM exhaust brace
