300HP Miata budget build?

Ok, I'll step away from my negative comments. Should have taken the more helpful route. Anyway, as I stated before, I hope for his sake that it works and I'm wrong.
One last dig......go back and read. Sounds to me like I'm dead on with what he is planning for piston/block combo.

You are correct sir, the pistons I'll likely be running are from a third engine.
The pistons I have I got from ERAT and they are basically brand new.
So
bottom end will be:
Basically new OEM pistons
new chromoly rings
ebay rods w/ arp bolts
new clevite bearings
and it's already been re-honed with a ball hone tool
Honestly, I don't mind your guy's pessimism, my engine build is more about learning and having fun building it, then about building the sweetest most reliableist engine ever.
Also, my intention was never to go for specifically 300hp, that number is just because of this dumb thread. My intention was always to throw a motor together with ebay rods a la 18psi method and hope it runs okay whilst I do a proper (IE not cutting corners) build on a 99 OR VVT motor. Now when (if...?) I do finally finish the motor and get it installed/running, etc, if it holds together and takes to boost, then sure I might shoot for ~300hp on E85.
ALSO, I haven't decided exactly what I'm going to do with the head but I'm leaning toward taking it to the machine shop. I have ordered some new Supertech Valve Stem seals from Emilio, waiting for those to arrive. If I can get everything I need done to the head done for less than $300 than I'll probably just do that because I have precious little time to work on stuff.
Finally, my point about my build is that SOMEONE could do a similar build for similar money and possibly get to 300whp. That someone would need to know what they are doing, ie not me...
PS - My build thread sucks. It was -11 out this morning when I left for work. Garage was maybe +10...kind of hard to build a motor or get motivated to do anything when everything is frozen. I'm thinking about moving motor building operations into the basement, not to sure how the wife will like that...

I could do it including purchase of car for $5k out of pocket.
Of course, this is ignoring suspension or brakes entirely, but i could do it.
It wouldn't be BP powered, though.
I've made well over 300whp for years now with my daily driver for under $2000 including purchase price.
As far as i can tell, that leaves me $3000 or more to find a way to get the motor in my -$400 93 Miata.
Sounds easy.

Do you have a dyno plot for your MSM?
Do you have a dyno plot for your protege or whatever?
Have you run the quarter in any of these cars?
If you're gonna talk about your cars every single day 10000x a day (esp the f2gtt one) you gotta at least entertain us with cool pictures and/or videos dude

I have a dyno plot or two for the MSM, but i don't really talk about that car, because it's boring.
The protege or whatever has never been on the dyno, but i have run the quarter in it twice. Once with 205/40-17 Nexen N3000s (worst tire ever!) when it pulled a 13.12 @ 118mph.
Then more recently it ran with the turbo falling off (2/3" gap between turbo and manifold), blown head gasket, huge exhaust leak (LOL can't use stock toyota gaskets on my CT26 because of the adapter lol), and turns out a pretty fucked turbo, a 14.2 @ 105 at the $2012 GRM Challenge.
Here's the only "cool" (Read: small ***** levels of boost) video of the MX6 doing 30-100mph in 8 seconds with a blown headgasket and a dead turbo.
As for why i don't have any more current pictures or videos of it at this time.... here's a picture of what happened to my built head at the machine shop.
So yeah. I'm building a whole new motor now. Will entertain with more videos at a later date after motor and clutch break-in are complete.
