home brew ...
I started this thread over on m.net about a home brew octane booster using Toluene - and some one of the ideas reallt caught my attention:
"It sounds like the idea for the forced induction / nitrous crowd would be to get a separate set of nozzles feeding pure toluene when the boost comes on. Since most driving is done at low throttle openings with octane requirements that can be handled by xx-octane pump gasoline , you would have the best of all worlds - cheap cruising with power available when needed."
Anyone tried something like this?

OK, stupid question of the day:
I had an occasion to think there was a vacuum leak on a friend's car and tried propane to find it. Used a hose and regulator to mist propane around the engine and nothing happened. Decided to open one of the vacuum lines just a little to find out how much the RPM's would increase if it had found a vac leak and all the propane did was decrease RPM's.
WTF??
