Default Looking for some help and GReddy emanage maps

Ok the car is a 1990 1.6 mx5, i gave it to a garage in may or june last year to fit all the turbo bits i had been builing up over the last few years and it still isnt finished! I brought it home 2/3 weeks ago cause i was so sick of his different excuses why it wasnt done, it was some joke! I was mad to get it all fitted but wasnt in too much of a rush as I've a NB rs too as my everyday car anyway 2 or 3 weeks turned into 2 or 3 months and then it was "it will be ready in a week or 2" and so on and so on! It would have been a lot cheaper to buy an already turbo'd one, I don't know what I've spent already but I wouldnt be surprised if its close to 3000, The garage gave me a price of 1200/1300 to fit everything I had including the fitting of a 6 point carbing cage, he fitted a lot of things but they were mainly the bolt on stuff anyway, he never fitted the oil cooler and oil filter relocation kit, never fitted the boost controller or the wideband system, never fitted any of the gauges, the GReddy emanage blue ecu was on my passenger seat with wires everywhere and my ignition wiring/alarm was messed up with wires everywhere, the car was some mess, bits everywhere ! I have the wiring nearly sorted and the boost controller, wideband and gauges nearly fitted so just want some help mapping/tuning it, I'd be delighted if you could help get me going, I'm mad to get it right as you can imagine, The garage wanted 1100 for what he did but he took 1000 which was probably too much i know but I just wanted the car back without any more stress/hassle.-
-the list of turbo bits i've on it/got for it;
1. GReddy manifold with relief cuts.
2. GReddy E-Manage blue ecu with harness for 1990 mx5.
3. ARTech 3" downpipe with 5 bolt T25 flange.
4. Toyota altezza 340cc injectors (that's what The garage said they were anyway)
5. Front mount intercooler.
6. ARTech oil and coolent line kit.
7. GReddy profec B spec 2 boost controller.
8. AEM wideband O2 system.
9. T25 turbo
10. 3xgauges (oil pressure, water temp, boost gauge)-

Il post up some pics soon, I had the software cd for the emanage blue too but it's still in the garages laptop! And he hasn't posted it down yet, he's about 3 and half hours drive away

The e-manage is a very limited system. I don't know of anyone currently using it on their miata.

I recently installed an emanage blue on my 1999 AE.
I used a diy autotune o2 clamp circuit and a map sensor to make it work.

The map sensor pulls timing 1 degree per psi of boost in EMB ign table.
The o2 clamp clamps the lambda signal to the ECU when the car enters boost so it doesn't fight to keep it at 14.7 AFR when you want to be at 12.5.

To keep the 12.5 AFR in boost you can either make an additional injection map or use an autotune setup.

For additional injection you add fuel through the additional injection table relative to boost map sensor voltage. There are a few Miata additional injection maps here and on the emanage yahoo group that will make setting up a base map easier.

The other alternative way using autotune routes lambda to EManage TPS table and corrects fuel to maintain AFR automatically. There is a guy on the forum (Olderguy) who offers autotune for kits for sale or you could try to build your own if you are handy with a soldering iron.

The emanage blue works ok but is a bit limited in functions and afaik can not trigger COPs. If you plan to keep boost low then it should be OK.

I'm still using it on my car. I'm not sure how much power I'm missing out on not running a stand alone, but at 15psi it still works as good as it did on 6psi.

Do you have the greddy sensor, support tool and a wideband?

I don't mind if I'm missing out on a little power for now, I just want to get going, I have the wideband system nearly fitted, the support tool (cd isn't it?) is in the garages laptop! And he hasn't posted it down yet, he's about 3 and half hours drive away, which greddy sensor is it?

You can get software here if you don't have the CD.

You can use a different map sensor to the greddy one if you like with a diy cable. The 3 bar map sensor from VW group TDI is also fine and are easy to get. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-GALAX...item1c253d4f55

Flounder I am interested in you set up with 15psi and emb.
In particular how do you have it set up.
Do you have an o2 clamp?
Do you use autotune or map based additional injection?
Do you have the original coils or some upgraded set up?

I have a low boost now (7 psi) but planning on going higher (14 psi) when I source injectors. I am curious what is needed for the emb to work well at 15psi. Any info on your setup would be appreciated.

No o2 clamp. I use the additional injection map and the ignition map with the greddy sensor, that's it.

I am just street tuning at the moment, but plans for some dyno tuning are in the works this summer. I have my map scale set up from .80-2.60 (greddy sensor scale) and just tune, drive, tune until I get it right.

I will tell you that I only need to pull 8 degrees of timing to eliminate knock at 15psi, but I run 93 octane and a bottle octane booster with every fill up. It's probably bumping it up to 95 or so. I used to pull a lot more than that, but I started adding timing and the power kept increasing so I found that -8 works for me.

I run stock coils and wires but run the 7's gapped to .030.
