I've seen the threads and discussions, but there doesn't appear to be many reporting failure with the real deal when braced and all that.
a believe a few have cracked, but they weren't running the brace. with the brace, i think there might have been 1 failure I've heard of, but it was unconfirmed iirc.

People love to hate on BEGi, so if they were cracking often, we'd hear about it.

I know of one, and saw one crack that had the brace on.

We mended it on the side of the dragon with a pop can, and a worm gear clamp.

but its made of metal, i mean come on, metal doesn't break, or have cracks propagate from sustained repetitive loads and go through heat treatment everyday, making it more brittle.

every manifold will crack eventually.
mine already did and was reinforced.

the ebay one will just crack in 2 weeks.

This is my logic too.

If it was a big problem we'd have 100+ threads on it. Also a bunch of regulars with higher hp miata's ran or are running an s4 setup (dem768, ben, etc..all over 300whp...all tracked their cars at least a couple times.)...

Thats not true, if its made of steel it can be designed for infinite fatigue life.

Bryan is using a schedule 10 manifold now, instead of his old sheet metal one.

the cracks dont necessarily occur where there is loading on the manifolds, but more often where the runners converge. The heat variation here is greater, which like I said before will cause cracks to propagate. That is why adding braces to ebay manifolds doesnt nessisarily make them good to go. Dont want cracks? get a quality cast manifold. Want tubular? use a thicker pipe and if you weld it yourself a heat treatment, even in your oven at 400 and quench will help it a bunch. Just look up a heat treatment chart.

But then there is that getup of people who always manage to make things work no matter what....like when people didn't believe we put a rb25 in a cresseda and retro fit s15 suspention....or my lt1 rx7 with working ps ac that still handled.or a notchback in the 10s under 5k invested....but omfg not $51 lol....yeah i must be the poor ignorant type....and hours and hours of labor?? Do you work with your eyes closed? Hardly difficult to fab a dp.
Buy then again some people spend money others are craftsmen. And yes having somhing to start with and hold in my hand is worth less than 1hrs pay....I cab use it as a jig when it fails...or maybe just draw a template and relist it for $80....who cares.....Eather way I'm done with this Dick measuring contest

OP, looks like you'll find better luck on the miata forum... where people care about cupholders and ****. Your electric trunk oppener and hideaway plate will get their vaggies so wet that they wont even care about the **** manifold you want to buy.

His plans are to weld it... Long story short it will crack, then he will weld it, then it will crack again, he will weld it, then it will crack again. 2 months later he will have welds on top of other welds to hold the other welds. That is all assuming he doesnt burn a quarter inch hole in the wall of the pepsi can the first time he tries to weld it. Eventually few months into the thing he will say **** it, i'm tired of this **** and realize we actually know what we're talking about.

The main problem with that manifold isnt the 50 bucks price tag.. its the ******* around with it every week just to get it together to get your dumb *** to work.

exactly. 50 bucks isnt worth being late to work. Dont go out to eat for a week and that should give you some funds to buy a better manifold.
