Default cost of muffler shop build dp

What does it typically cost to get a muffler shop to build a dp using mandrel bends, if I bring flanges in? I wonder if I can get it done for $200 or so?

For a hole in the wall type of muffler shop, yeah you could get it done for that. I got full catback exhaust with muffler and tips put on my truck for 200. If you're supplying flanges i don't see why not. Our local shops don't carry mandrel bends though, so you might want to give them a heads up.

I was thinking about rolling in there with a few mandrel bends, and have them fill in with straight pipe where necessary.

Marlon paid $595 for his entire custom exhaust, turbo back, 2.5" expanding to 3", Magnaflow muffler, resonator, and before & after dyno runs.

They will try to get the bends correct using your mandrel pieces, cutting them to fit, etc, but if it's not perfect (and it won't be) then they will start crush bending it. If you want it done right you'll have to pay more than $200 I'm sure. It takes time to do it right and time=money.

But maybe not...try it, it'll be better than 100% crush bent.

Do a decent mockup yourself and bring it to them to cut/weld. I've had DP's made this way for <$50 (labor).

Ive got very good work out of reputable muffler shops that specialize in hot rods twice. I call ahead and ask what kind of beer you like and how many guys are in the shop, make my appointment, done. basically I go with a 12pack and some ideas and leave with whatever I needed.

I think my last trip was 200$ but that was fitting alot of stuff and a new cat.

I had mine done for $240, 3" SS, SS flanges, mandrel or angle cut bends. With my flanges it would've been $200
