Any updates on the project?
I just put mine in the garage and on jacks. Diff is going to be pulled on friday.
I also hope that I will get the rods by next week!
ETD is taking so long, but it's better than paying for customs.

RusMan, where did you get your front bumper from?

I asked him once. It's a bomex replica from a company he said took wayyy to long to produce it. You can get the original bomex though.

Yeah I'd rather get the original one, but ohh well, it's not that much of a difference in price.

I better get the rods next week, cause that's the only part that's holding me on the rebuild right now. And thinking of buying another car to drive, not enough money for everything.

Just get the car together asap, and don't mess around with it too much if you need it as a reliable DD. You never know if the car you buy is a moneypit (another one ha! ) and you just end up losing a bunch of money that you need to complete this one.

damn even andy told you. Most of the people on here cant afford the trannys etc we would go through at 500 hp much less 300 hp. Our issues are getting the power to the wheels and then to the ground in the form off speed. name me 1 DSM tranny that is known to blow past 250 whp or 1 dsm diff that wont take 200 whp in stride. Or better yet name me 1 DSM that wieghs 2200 lbs full off gas and on the raod. Well i gues you can't you know why cause DSM is heavy heavy needs more HP to be fast and can afford to use heavier drivetrain ****. This isnt conjecture it is fact. We are broke we dont just drag race, and our drivetrain isnt bullet proof. Things we have in our favor though are that we dont weigh anything, our motors are pretty stout, and the car is designed to be easy to maintain and perfectly balanced.

Russ man GL with the motor dont forget all the little seals they can be a bitch later take your time and make one hell of a ride. those wheels deserve some HP they are dead sexy.

Maybe if you actually READ what I just ******* posted, you wouldn't look like an idiot. I didn't say ANYTHING about tuning/afpr's/dsm's in my latest post. Moron. I could have commented about using proper sized injectors and not massive fuel pressures, but I DIDN'T. And a turbo Colt is 2200lb fully on the road and it is basically built on the dsm platform just in a different chassis.

I am trying to keep the dude's thread on topic, so why are YOU bringing **** up that has been dead for a week.

Let's keep this thread for Rusman to document his build. We do not need any of this kind of ****.

I dont really care if you were or not, just hoped you wouldnt come back.

Anyway, while I am at it, what pissed me off and most everybody else was your attitude. You come on here telling us what is right and wrong. As for the AFPR thing, instead of saying its worthless to run both, why not ask why we do it that way? Or for the fuel pump, maybe ask why not the 255? As for AFPR terminology, i dont care if its adjustable or auxillary (its probably both anyway). If it is supposed to work a certain way and does what i want then I am happy. Instead, you told us what was right and wrong. We have reasons for doing these things the way we do, and usually it is because it just plain works and we dont need to take a risk to try something different for the same result. Further, it helps to mention why you think a certain way (On DSM, we did it this way ...)

You ruffled some feathers around here, and you need to be more respectful of what we have spent so much time learning. I actually do hope you stick around and build a sweet car up. Go hit up an autocross every once in a while because its a reminder that power is not the only factor that makes a car great. I have fun driving a stock miata and Ive also gone out in a turbo miata and had just as much fun in either one.

Thats all I have to say and I hope that this is the end of the bickering here -ryan

Thank you, and Sorry, I didn't mean to come off as an ***. Anyway's lets get back to Rusman's build. If anyone would still like to debate the AFPR issue I will gladly (and civily too ) Debate it in another thread!

Do these look like the ones I need or are these the older ones that would require new connectors.

I paid $80 for a set of good (non leaking) 550cc ones depending on the guy you could low ball and say $50 to see what he says? Don't pay over a $100 because you'll most likely want to have them cleaned with new seals somewhere like witchhunter.

I offered 60, we'll see what he says.

More questions.
Adjustable cam gears, should I get one, from what I understand I can only use one on the exhaust cam because of cam sensor on '99. Will there be any gain possible with one or is it just bling? ohh I'm running stock cams.

I've got a stock head gasket, will it work with 1.5mm overbore pistons? Or do I have to buy a custom one, does anyone even make them, what about thicker gaskets?

I wouldn't bother with the cam gears man. Keep it simple. You can get 300hp without them so why bother. Spend the money else where and save the tuning headache.
