Wait you are spending gobs of cash and want to use a cheap china clutch. If you want to run all of it, send 949 your money and get a twin disk.

Welcome to the forum. It looks like you have spent money on some proper parts.

I guess most clutches will hold with a good strong pressure plate.
More of this stuff is made in China than we probably realize, so I won't cast aspersions for that.
Most of the forged rods on this forum are from China.

Haha well still waiting on funds for pistons rods and mega squirt. I managed to get an rx7 TII trans, t3 mani, tial waste gate and the flywheel clutch setup for 500$ and i wasnt gonna pass that up! Waste gate hasnt been used. Alone there 300$ im ln the process of basically stripping the car down right now, havent decided on clutch but being im not 100% how well the rx7 trans will adapt up clutching wise. The guy gave me the adapter plate so id rather bolt it up and work out any clutching kinks with a 50$ chines clutch then a 600$ one.... Just my thought but thats why i chimed in! I havent built a miata and you guys have so you guys know more then me! As far as miata wise! So good or bad i value your guys input!

And as far as gobs of cash with everything including the price i paid for the car i will be in it at about 6500$, so if i reach my 400whp goal (which i only want to for the sake it did it) then was gonna lower my boost a bit. But i dont see 6500$ for a 400whp car a bad price. I just dont want it to end up like faes car. Ha. I read a bunch of threads and basically wanna build the car once. Not 12 times pulling it apart making changes. I wanna do it all in one build.

Less talking more pics please.

It's usually a bad idea to say stuff like "6500 for 400whp is not bad" as though you've already achieved it.

I do hope you achieve your goals though, and sounds like you're on the right track I just want to know how much of the stuff you already have and how far along you are, cause we get way too many newbs with huge plans and goals only to find out they have almost nothing and done almost nothing and it's just a pipe dream.

I love me a holset run at full tilt. Should bee a hoot. Good luck

You will be far above $6500 when it is all said and done I bet. I wish you good luck on it, but **** adds up very quickly.

The reason I am against cheap clutches is they are a pain to replace. After having to replace a cheap one 3 times in a week, I will no longer go with any clutch that is not FM/ACT/949 branded.

I was just gonna skip over this but figured I'd post since I'm in the middle of a big power build with the same trans setup you want to use. Go in my build thread and look at what is actually needed to use the TII trans. There is a decent amount of fab needed. Clutchnet can make you a custom clutch disk that will work with the swap. You'll also need a new driveshaft.
But you better be ready to open up your wallet/paypal account if you actually want to make 400whp.

BP engines really don't want to make 400hp. They aren't Hondissans.

Default Plz no ban haha

The rx7 turbo trans that's going in.

Modified the valve relief in hopes to cut down heat then all weight matched

Assembled short block with ARP everything. 8:6 super tech modified Pistons, eagle rods, acl race bearings,

Almost together just mocked up

Next to the rusted dented beat up turd it's going into

Default It's been a while since I've been on

This build is gonna take a bit yet as I still don't know if I wanna run a mega dirt for my engine management along with money but it is moving along. The only pipe dreams here are me affording what I'm still doing haha

Default Reroute

I wanted to but from what I understood reading around the updated 2001 HG is changed to flow more through the rear of the head so I was gonna at least give it a try. Car never got hot prior to build even with a/c on sitting in 95+ weather. Was gonna get a bigger radiator and see how it cools with some good fans on it. It's nothin to change it later 😁

I would pull the head and swap to the earlier head gasket and do a reroute. It is easy to do with everything out of the car.

+1 on the Reroute. It is really cheap to do.
The build is going to nickel and dime you to hell, expect to go way beyond that $6,500 mark.

For that much boost you are going to need a whole lot more crank case venting. There are some good threads around.

You need a rear trans mount solution, diff mount solution.

Interested in holset spool. I'm currently on the hunt for a hx30.
