I have a smoking problem
After I do a boosted run and come back to idle (say at a stoplight), the car smokes like crazy. I have done about 2000 boosted miles, and car has consumed about 3 quarts of 15W40 in that period, where earlier I needed to put in a quart every 3000 miles.
These things are out of the question:
1) Boost getting into crankcase and rings not sealing - Because I am running THIS valve in between a cheap autozone PCV and the intake manifold. The other vent on the valve cover is plumbed pre-compressor.
2) Leaking compressor seal - Because no oil in the hotside or coldside pipes.
3) Leaking turbine seal - Because no oil leaking out of CHRA
4) Low compression - Did a compression check, it came out 181/180/180/181.
Could my PLUGS be telling me something?
What do you guys suggest?

Could also be valve stem seals.

-3AN with banjo on both ends, WRX TD04 turbo journal bearing. In the stock subaru application this turbo comes with a 0.065" restrictor.
I put a set of clean plugs yesterday, will pull them today and see if #4 is still the way it was.

Alright I just pulled my plugs, and its bad news: #4 is very very sooty and oily. The other 3 are normal.
So does that mean valve stem seals then? Do I need to pull the head to do this? I've never done hardcore 4-stroke work before.
I thought you were joking until I saw the Restore website. Will it fix valve stem seal leak? How about Seafoam?

Yeah you can, you have to pressurize the cylinders. How many miles on the car? Might be a good time to pull the head, replace head gasket and maybe some diy porting.

154k on the clock.
I wonder if its worth it to swap in a good used engine. I want to prep my car for serious track work next year so I need something that wont keep breaking all the time. Even if I did the seals now it might be rings a few miles down the line....
