I have a '92 1.6


I was reading through rev2reds diy faq and began to search for these injectors on ebay:
89-92 Toyota Supra 7MGE NA 305cc – Light Green Top #23250-70080

I found a few sets that were reasonably priced and was wondering if they would work allright with a stock ecu and fmu??

I don't really want to mess with the MAF by going rx7 maf or tuning the stock maf. Would stock ecu and maf sensor be able to idle these?

If I was planning on maxing out at around 6 psi with these injectors, stock fuel pump, and stock ecu, what ratio disc would be suggested for my fmu?

im using them with the stock ecu and afm.

if you are only running 6psi of boost, then the 12:1 disc and stock pump with just 1.8l (265cc) should be even.

I was making a good 170rwhp with the above combo with a flat 12.5:1 AFR.

It's adjustable. Just add a wideband. Brain shows how to adjust it relatively easily.

Awesome. Thanks rev. I'll be sticking with the stock pump, 12:1 fmu, and tan tops. Then tune the af ratio with boost with my 38mm external wg. One more question. There is a guy on ebay selling a set of 1.8 tan top injectors who swares they're part number 195500-2180 and also swares they are 230cc not 254cc. According to the diy faq they should be 254cc injectors. Since the part number is correcto for 254c, I think i should be allright getting these from him.

p.s. cat's could you point me to tuning the stock afm with wideband? This is still a little confusing to me.

My car won't even idle with 305's and no EMB control. Your results may vary. How big your injectors are really does depend on how much boost you want to run. Reasons to get larger injectors might be to keep your fuel pressures down and your injector duty cycles down.

I progressed from 6 psi with stock injectors, Vortech at 6:1 and a Bipes, to 8 psi with 1.8 injectors, Vortech at 6:1 and a Bipes, to 8 psi with 305cc injectors, Vortech at 4:1 and EMB, to 11 psi with 305cc injectors , Vortech at 4:1 and EMB, with the goal to keep my fuel pressure under 85 psi and my injector duty cycles under 90%.

Car should idle like stock with just throwing in 305s. that problem is that you'll be idling at 11.5:1 AFR.

So i just tuned the OEM AFM to compensate via the idle mixture screw.

nothing else controls them, is it ideal? no. does it work? yes, perfectly.

I'm also running over 100psi of fuel and have been for a long time. No worries whatsoever.

The problem with no using a controller is at 5.5K rpms to computers stops using the meter to fuel and just uses a predetermined internal map. What this means is that it wants to give you x amount of fuel....since it doesn't know what size injector you have and you've raised the injector by 65% you dump in way more fuel up top than needed.

But yes, I would suggest using a 4:1 or 6:1 ratio with the 305s, depending on your boost level.

the best way to pick an injector is to think about a few things: BHP, boost level, fuel pressure, fuel pump capacity, and control issues.

it wouldn't be benefitial to run the largest injector possible and only make 90rwhp.

but you also can't run too small an injector and hope all is good.

you need to do the math and pick one that should work with your setup.

If you only plan 6-8psi, then the 1.8l injectors work just fine. just need about 80-100psi of fuel, depending on your BHP demands.

Well, if the question is why run 440's to keep fuel pressure at 80psi when you can run over 100 psi with smaller injectors that the stock ecu can handle, cool. If the question is why worry about higher fuel pressures, period...

Just picked up a set of 1.8 tan tops and a 12.1 vortech fmu off of ebay. Got $120 in the setup. Where can I get a cheap (relatively speaking) wideband.....I don't want to spend $350 for a wideband and gauge. I swear I saw someone around here mention a complete wideband setup for $150 .............

i just emailed ihavethebestpriceperformance on ebay about a package deal for the entire wideband setup (sensor, inline module, and data logging software $180 shipped) plus a gauge. I would be happy if he came back with $50 extra to throw a phantom into the deal.
So how hard is this thing going to be to wire up other than welding in another bung? Just run a fused power line to the module and one to the readout guage? Sorry i can't wait for the instructions, my mind is too hyperactive

well ray sir.......thanks for rubbing it in my face and then telling me that you don't like to share lolol. so anyway.....i work at an auto parts store to pay for school so i have a few connections on getting stuff at a decent price. if you don't mind me asking, and you don't feel at risk of revealing your secret, what type of wideband setup did you acquire for $160? Did it include a gauge as well? If you would be so kind as to supply a part number and brand for the setup, i would be much obliged...................until then
