Default Did some drag tonight

I got a couple videos I'll have to get posted up later. I managed to get in 5 runs (in order):

13.18@112.68
12.89@113.36
13.35@113.22
12.73@113.37
12.80@114.50

I was surprised by the MPH, but disappointed getting off the line. If I tried to launch I'd get nasty wheelhop. After the 1st run I was just basically rolling off the line at idle and flooring it. I almost stalled on the 3rd run, ended up laying down an impressive 2.45 60' lol. Best 60' of the night was the last one at 2.05, the rest were in the 2.1's.

What boost were you running? How much power do you think you were making?
Nice runs. That was on 3.90 gears and a 6 speed?

With a 1.6 60' you'd be 12.0-11.9 with around a 110 trap.

Time to man up with some real tires!

It's at 17psi. I've been telling people that I thought it was around 270whp but the trap was a little higher than I thought it would be. I'd love to see it lay down 300 but I doubt it, somewhere in that range though.

Yes, it is a 6 speed with 3.90's. I'm finally starting to accept that the gearing just too short to be ideal. I'd love a set of 3.63's but they seem awfully hard to come by.

My old miata use to cut 1.8's on the same wheels and tires. I'm not sure what this one's problem is. I guess it's all in the weight (old miata was a gutted NA) and suspension. I'm really not a big 1/4 mile guy, just like to take the car out once in a while to see what it will do.

I love the 10AE's. I almost bought an R title one, but the seller was shady. The first time I ever saw a 10AE was in 2002? Maybe? It was at a Chrysler dealer as a trade in. I drove it and it was a 1 owner car with really low miles on it. I loved everything about the whole car, but for $17,900 I said no way.
I paid $6,000 cash for my '99 base model in '07, and I wouldn't have it anyother way. I thought about feeling guilty to hack up a car that is 1 of 7500; then someone asked me what I'd do if I owned an original 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang. I said I'd EMS-pro it, convert it to EFI, and twin turbo it. So I guess 1 out of 7500 wouldn't be so bad!

I don't know what I'm more impressed with - you running a 12.7 or the Flex right there with you on the 12.8 run.

I saw that too and was like, "what is that thing? Is that a Ford Flex?"

I want that Flex. I think that's the first model that had the Ecoboost twin turbo V6 option.

Good job pdexta! I miss my old drag racing home at Bradenton Motorsports Park terribly. I've raced at quite a few tracks around the country and it was my favorite by far. All we have around here are crappy 1/8 mile tracks.
