92 1.6 T3/T04E 12psi
Went to the nwquattro dyno day today over at Pina Motorsports. I was pleased considering I was only running 12psi and had just got my **** halfway dialed in about 5 minutes before I strapped into the dyno
And before the hating starts about how absolutely useless my power curve is, remember the whole point of this car is highway pwnage. Add another 8-10psi on top of this and I'll be a happy guy.
Oh, and this is with a 2.25" downpipe to 2.5" crush bent exhaust and a BEGi log. I'm leaving a shitload on the table.
-edit-
I moved this from my build thread to here because I didn't realize that there was a dedicated dyno section
-edit #2 -
This **** is in the wrong section. I fail this morning. Can someone please move it to the dyno/timesheet subforum?

I'm really torn right now about how low-key I want to keep things, but whichever way I go, an open DP just isn't in the mix. Washington state cops can be dicks and I dont need too much attention.
Fun fact, a new 3 week long speeding crackdown just started. There will be a fuckload of speeding tickets issued, and some people are reporting fines for speeds as low as 3 over. This is especially shitty because Washington allows the proceeds from speeding tickets to count towards the general state budget. Most states don't allow that kind of bullshit because of the obvious conflict of interest.

I always wanted to run a recirced EWG right at the openign for a cutout, so you basically had a dumped WG and exhaust or a standard setup based on the cutout.
Failing that, I really think they should be making or re-purposing mufflers for external dumped EWGs. I think a muffler right off a lawnmower might work. Dumped EWG means your ex. does not have to be perfect. Your back pressure is pretty well eliminated anyway.

60AR compressor? That's a big turbine. A 48AR would help the lower rpm power and still have enough flow for 300whp- IF you wanted that. But there's the option of a 50AR compressor housing first- if you don't have that already. This stuff is fairly common used (if you're running a typical ford 5 bolt turbine housing).

Could you not get that dip at 5500 out with some tuning?

I know I could run a .48ar turbine housing, but after talking with some friends and some local tuners, I decided that the .63 would allow me to make the power easier.
Understand that the low end that I currently have is perfectly fine for me. 'daily driving' this thing means putting it around seattle streets. The only time I get to bust loose is on the highway, so up top is where it is at. Plus I'm pretty sure a proper exhaust will help things along.
That is actually from a boost spike to ~14psi which then dropped to 11 or so and slowly started climbing back up to 12. I'm experiencing the worst case scenario for boost control, Spikes, fall off, and slight creep in upper RPMs. After doing this dyno, it fully made up my mind on getting a proper EWG setup.

I loved mine, it was just a TiAL 38 with about 1.5 feet of 1.5 inch diameter spiral flex tube. Never had a problem, though I would hit full boost pretty often. But then I was lucky, some areas (apperantly WA state is one of them) are super sensitive to stuff like that. Thats where a small muffler for EWG dumps might be handy.
When I someday get to actually effing doing something rather than talking about it, I think I will run that same flex dump tube, but I will try to have a DP with a recirc tube on it. I will use a Autozone special clamp to secure the EWG dump to the DP tube if I am worried about noise, but I can always just cap the tube on the DP and run the EWG open too.
