Great to hear you are up and running

The newer firmware 1.3.0 (due for release soon) gives a faster initial sync speed, which may help with the starting.

Also, yes I would say to cut a slot and run an extension cable. Ultimately accesability to tuning is not an overt design requirement - most ECUs are mapped then the lid is installed until the next mapping session (or even never again), hence the lid off approach.

The tuning software is indeed being updated all the time, and analogue gauges are on the list
