my car is stored 30 mins from here, i try to have everything figured out before i drive over there to fail.

TNS+ (Dimmer) and ILL- (Dimmer Return). do i to complete a circuit with the dimmer return or just hook the yellow wire to the tns+?

I can't remember for sure, but I think most "dimmer wires" go to 12V when you turn the lights on. all you gotta do is tap that wire and run it to the gauge "dim" wire.

http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/s.../DB_manual.pdf

they say to use an actual headlight power wire. Which is pretty lame.

Just pull out you stereo, stick a probe in the harness with the key on and lights off and measure something below 3V and turn the lights on and measure 12V and you're in business.
