Default Gutted intake questions

God, I searched everywhere and can't find an agreement for the best solution for the 03 manifold at the 300+mark. I scored one for 40 bucks, and I see the vegan flower god had sean cut his out, but I guess I would like a little more documentation or something. I don't want to break out my spinning wheel of death on my intake without having somewhat of a direction and knowing what works. I am at the end of my budget, and grabbing this SOB for cheap was on point. Any good documentation from yall? m.net is full of people asking why would you do it, and all I can find here is talking about how to grill a hotdog in a tailpipe.

Be the guinea pig, chop it apart and dyno it before and after. I've been wondering the same thing and haven't been able to find anything conclusive.

Well ****, I am kind of lazy, I do know that the butterflies at the bottom are leaving regardless, because I took those out on my AE86, and that is totally the same. Actually, I never did drive that thing when it was "right." But anywho, this damn intake looks like nothing but a flow restriction and a waste of weight.

are you are worried about removing the VTCS flappers in the 03 manifold?

stop worrying. do it and plug the pivot rod holes. they are ONLY closed at cold start. the rest of the time they sit in the runners blocking delicious airflow.

I wouldn't gut the aluminum just yet though.

edit: hah you beat me by one minute.

anyway...

398hp with power building to redline isn't conclusive?

There's not much too it. I gained about .7L of volume with the gut. Total plenum (not including runners) volume is now around 2.5L IIRC. Hack away until there's nothing left. Destroy the EGT **** too. Oh and while you're at it port match.

I wasn't lol, those are nothing but something for commiefornians to think they are supercool on emisions or someshit. I guess my grinder will take some time off. It really hasn't seen action since I put a chinese 2871 on my 90 grand prix. What do you plug it up with. I used JB weld on my 4ag motor. It was a shitty car that was an experiment for a 15 year old trying to have a car by the time he was 16.. (****, that was over 10 years ago before those were cool here). It lasted til I was 22 and sold it for 1300 dollars, which was a 1000 dollar profit. So, I am looking for a better option that is for more for refined people that buy 40 dollar manifolds to block the hole. What is the correct way for sealing that bitch.

Edit at fae.... **** egr's those are for pussies.

Yes you can JB weld it. Or just stick your finger in it.
