Default I am a little lost. Maybe timing issue

Well I am a little paranoided as well. I had to get the head resurfaced because I overheated and the head gasket blew and it was just a mess. Anyways I put everything back together and the car started right up. It did start to idle like I had aftermarket cams. I would drive it and it was fine til I would put it into idle to come to a stop and the car would shut off. I didn't do it everytime either. So I get the timing light to look and my timing is way off. Like -10 degrees. I should let you know that I am using the voodo box for now and the timing plate it comes with is suppose to bring it back -6. So I take out my new plugs to see how they look and this is what I see

After playing with the timing plate and doing a little seaching and reading on this forum I am thinking that I could be a tooth off. But now when I just took everything off this is what I see

use a square to see if the top cam sprocket marks are straight up and down. Every time I question it and shift one tooth either way, the truth reveals itself.

Also, do yourself a favor and chop the front of the valve cover off, and mark the accessory pully so you can do this **** on the fly, without grabbing the wrenches.

Last guy (last week) that had his cam gears like that was a tooth off. It looks like if you got the intake right on the mark, then the exhaust would be a full tooth off.

But do what hustler said first...judging by eyes sucks -especially in timing belts-. Get the right tool, and square it up.
