Default VICS question

I been having some issues keeping boost strong in the upper RPM. The 2870 churbo I have should be flowing strong at high RPM, but that is not what I am seeing. I have only seen ~15psi once while tuning.

Due that I do not have the solenoid that operates VICS in my 99 transplant, I resourced to keep it closed via a zip tie. The question is should I keep it open instead? As much as I would like the upper range to be more crisp I do not want to sacrifice the little low and mid-range power present. Thanks

You can use whatever 3 port solenoid you want there, as long as its direct acting, like the MAC33 valve that half the world uses as 3 port boost controllers.

Thanks I'll look into that further down the road. At the moment though how would it affect my engine performance if I leave the VICS flap open without any controller to signal it to close?
