Big news! Adam Costa - the man behind the Speed Science documentary that aired a while back - has decided to make a documentary about the Miatas running in the Targa this year. Adam's one of us, a serial Miata owner who will quite probably be using his NC as his beast of burden during the race.

He's funding it himself, but wants to bring along an extra crew member so he can get double the coverage. And in order to do that, he's pre-selling DVDs and posters and the like.

$10: custom vinyl sticker.
$50: a copy of the DVD, sticker.
$100: movie poster (signed by the filmmakers, FM team or nobody - you decide), thanks in the "special thanks" credits of the movie, DVD, sticker.
$250: larger "special thanks" credit in the movie, poster, DVD, sticker
$1000: producer credit in the movie, poster, DVD, sticker
$2000: executive producer credit plus your photo, video or interview in the film, plus poster, DVD, sticker.

Kickstarter page to order DVDs

We've been working with Adam on this for a while, and we're really excited about it. He's been to both the Summer Camp East at the Walter Mitty as well as our Colorado Summer Camp in the past few weeks.

Adam (who posts here as Projectrally, by the way) had problems shooting the NC because every time it was on track all you could hear was the V8s!

The car that I'm chasing at that point is actually Pokee, the 460 rwhp turbo car. We were trying to see who was faster down the straight. At the time, it was the turbo car. I'm doing my best to change that...

Thanks for posting this up, Keith. The post hasn't even gone live on Autoblog, but it's already getting some serious traction.

I'm sorry, did you just cry on camera? You're not helping the Miata stereotype Keith.

GL this year, can't wait for some in car footage and sideways shots.

Are you guys going to Hallett this year too? Those white 6ULs look AWESOME.

Have fun crushing at the Targa.

Hey, I'm secure in my masculinity! I got a bit choked up talking about the outpouring of support, I'll admit it. I'm sure the editor could make me look really foolish if he wanted.

We're not going to Hallet this year, as it overlaps the Targa. I am planning to be quite busy. Hopefully we'll be back next year.

It's a gay car after all...
Good luck in the Target - happen to have some more engine sound tracks to share?

I'm still poking around with in-car microphone placement - you mostly hear diff whine (which sounds kind of cool) and valve noise (which does not). So my in-car stuff is disappointing. Adam might have some good exterior stuff to share.

I'm on the road with all my gear in tow. Just about to catch the ferry from Nova Scotia to Newfoundland.

You can follow my updates on the kickstarter page. There are links to some raw footage of the Targa Miata and Bill talking about Nancy on there as well: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...oundland/posts
