Search Sucks
Ok, as a noobie I did my noobie duty and used search before asking a question. I do not wish to be crucified for being less patient than all the rest of you ********. My search was "Why the **** do I need XXX posts before I can buy some **** in classifieds or even pm the thieving bastard selling the stuff " . Don't understand why it did not work. Thanks for your patience

Simple solution. Make a decent build thread, problem solved.
It's meant to cut down on scammers. I can understand wanting to use the Classified section, we have the best of the big Miata communities. M.net and CR's Classifieds are full of fail (though I think we can be a bit too protective of pricing criticism).

First you do not want to be crucified for being less patient than the rest, but yet you post this up clearly showing that you have no patience. What is it like 10 posts or some ****? I say whoever is selling what he wants not sell it to him for being worthless.

Please Forgive Me, Miata Turbo Gods
You guys are funny, I guess the number of posts you have determines how cruel and derogatory you may be without being crucified. After reading some of Hustlers posts I figured you could get away with anything. If I promise to be a good little noobie can I play? And wow, the last time I was called a douchebag was about 30 years ago, it made me cry then also.

You asked for an answer...I think you got it.
It's really not hard to participate, and then reap the benefits of membership. You aren't the first person to breeze through and say it's unfair...and then never post again after they pick up the part they wanted.
This is an actual enthusiast community, not a bullshit forum with a classifieds section. The classifieds are there so we can swap parts and advance each others projects. The forum is here to swap knowledge and advance the hobby.
What are you here for?

The End (not a rope)
I have been looking at this and every other Miata forum every day for the last 6 months. I have learned a lot. None of THIS bullshit really means anything to me. I was just trying to be funny. I will continue to browse these forums and learn anything I can. As far as limiting accessibility due to lack of posts, I still do not get it. I would like to purchase items to support my new passion and I should not be prevented from doing that. Unfortunately I do not have much to offer in the way of posts because my experience is limited. Apparently this is taken way more serious than I realized, but it just does not mean that much to me. I am done posting on this matter and will move along to the important stuff, like buying lots of things to make my car go faster. And have a blast doing it.

We tolerate quite a bit from those who have been around for a while, largely because in doing so they've learned the ropes, know where the limits are, and have proven that they're able to comport themselves in a reasonable manner. The nature of the forum is such that those people who aren't capable of behaving like civilized humans tend to not last long enough to accumulate impressive post counts to begin with. It lets us maintain a sort of self-regulating frathouse atmosphere without having to be ***** about rule enforcement.
Hustler is a special case. He's still getting over some serious postpartum depression, so we cut him some slack.
As far as limiting accessibility due to lack of posts, I still do not get it.

I did have enough posts by the time I was ready to buy something though. I don't buy the "I didn't have anything worthwhile to contribute crap" when you just finished starting this stupid thread. That's somehow better (or funnier) than uneducated posts in existing threads. In 6 months you couldn't come up with 15 good questions.
Btw, you're the one that started taking this seriously. You stated you were asking a question, we answered. Don't get all butthurt about the way it turned out.
Yes people immediately look at post count, it helps us decide how much effort we are going to put into a reply. Who would you help more with some homework: the guy that you see studying all the time but just struggles, or the guy that's always walking into class late? You can call it unfair, but your post count -and what you write in those posts- is all we have to go on.
