The progressive failure you described in your first post doesn't seem like a driver incompatibility to me.

That's what I thought initially too, but it would seem like a physical/hardware issue, but I can't think of why it would be displayed by windows as a driver failure. I guess maybe it could be a video card BIOS issue because of faulty rom.

It might be over heating or defective. My gt420m did that and had to send my laptop back as it was a defect in the bored. After a while it would just over heat and kick my laptop off.

Well unless the temp sensor is also faulty, it's not a heat issue. I monitor the temp and it always stays nice and cool.

It can't hurt to call...

Formatting and reinstalling can take hours. Calling takes minutes.

Takes me under an hour to have all needed software and games back on. I made a windows network back up of a fresh install of both my pcs when i got them with only windows default drivers installed and most of the software i would need that can auto update like steam, chrome, flash, ect. Have any game like BF:BC2, L4D2, Witcher 2 backed up on nas.

Just run, copy some files, and update drivers.

I see the servers, but when I click join, I get a pop up that asks to check release date.
