yep. The best track tire this side of ra-1's. I run those just because they're cheap and light on the little, ugly wheels. You can also get 205/55/14 nitto nt-555 drag radials which are the same construction and compound as the ra-1, but a different tread pattern.

I wasn't thrilled with the tread-life of my Azenis (on BBS 14"). It's not very cheap if you get less than 10k miles on them! I went with the last set of Toyo T1-S that edgeracing had (so paid ~$45 per tire) in 195/55/14 and am pretty pleased for around-town spirited driving. The sidewall isn't nearly as stiff as the Azenis, so the road imperfections are soaked up a bit (which is good with the stock Bilsten LE/R-pkg suspension). But that said, I'd never track it with these tires, and I probably would only buy them again if another deal came up (with the T1-R).

912s ARE high mileage tires. so yes there is a point. obviously A/S tires yield higher mileage than your RT615/RS2...
i just softened the TEINs all the way around yesterday. that + the 912s make the miata actually livable. i just can't have 2 roadsters pounding my kidneys 7 days a week...
