Default 2554r power and/or quarter mile record?

Just out of curiousity, i'm wondering what the records are.

I know nobody cares because it's a limpdick tiny panty-waisted turbo, but hey, i'm bored and i'd like to talk about it.

I found a guy in the dynos and timeslips forum that trapped 110mph on his.

Couldn't find much for dynos, though. Best i saw while searching that forum for "2554" was 217whp.

I'm pretty sure we're already beating that power number.

I just don't really have any data as to what this thing should put out if i push it hard.

I am guessing if you build a hell of a motor with a really good breathing intake and cylinder head, you could get quite a bit out of it. Couple that with good chassis development, and I am guessing the quickest possible would amaze you.

I always thought it would be neat to have a Miata specific class of racing where all participants used the exact same turbo and it was up to the racer to make the most of it.

There is a class in NMRA that all participants have to run a particular style of intake, and have just a few choices of centrifugal supercharger that they can run. It started out as an entry level class, but in just a few years the cars got really fast.

I'm more wondering about trap speed honestly. I find that mph is a good indication of power, better than e.t.

Sure, trap speed is a pretty good indicator of speed, but there is a fair amount of MPH in the chassis. Just discussing.

Build it and find out for yourself.

Obviously it all depends on how light you can get it and get it to hook...

I played with launch control for at least 5 or 6 runs before i got it dialed in to the exact point where it wouldn't bog, but would hook and not spin... It was a very fine line. Though, with every setup is different.

It's more than just a turbo...
99 head, 1.8 liter...proper injectors, proper management and tune, tires that grip, driver than can react/ shift, etc.
