No the original owner had a shop that was stupid put the turbo in and they "blew it up" so they replaced the internals with garrett ones. This is what I have been told. I don't know this for a 100% fact, but the seller is a very trustworthy one, and besides that it is currently on a miata and running fine with no problems the owner is only getting taking it off cause he is going bigger and doing a full build. With a gt30 from what i understand.

This thread is encouraging for turbo reliability but I think people should mention if their engine is built or stock.

I am on a stock bp, begi s6 at 12psi for 3k miles. This is my first year with the car turboed at 125k miles.

Thats more along the line of what i was asking. How many miles does your motor have on it. before and since turbo and are you built?? Im about to boost a motor that has 150,000 miles and im just wondering if the motor is going to shatter into a billion tiny pieces the first time i hit boost............................ side note MegaSquirt came in today and the wideband o2 yesterday!!!!! going to install tomorrow.

Good friend of mine boosted at ~140k (I think). He is now at 160k and is running reliably. Stock engine. Get a compression check, leakdown test, that sort of thing. If it's all good then boost it and give it hell.

I boosted at 80k. I am now at 88k and the only things that have gone wrong were things I cheaped out on or half-assed.
