Default FM-FU......again.

this is not designed to bash any vendors, though i don't mind if it turns into it. i'm very displeased.......

-these are facts.

-i have made two purchases from flyinmiata.

-both have been screwed up.

-first on was for a rollbar last year that they addressed to the wrong location. luckily i was able to track it down and go retrieve it.

-the second took place today when i received my high flow catalytic convertor. they somehow sent a 1.8L cat (innocent enough) instead of the 1.6L that i needed. when i contacted them they informed me that they would not send out the correct part until they received the returned part. the only exception to that would be if i paid for the second one up-front. even at this point i was easy going enough to say "o.k., bill me for the second just please send it out with expedited shipping". i was told that they do not pay for any expedited shipping.......only ground shipping would be free for me. i don't find this to be acceptable and will be the reason that i will not make any other purchases with them and i will spread the word of my experience.
funny thing is....when i removed the shipping label from my box there was another shipping label underneath. it leads me to believe that this is not the first time that this exact part has been returned to flyinmiata for the same exact reason.

-beware of flyinmiata.

I think if a mistake was made in shipping they should help you out since you car might be sitting around because of their fault.

I've only purchased a few little things from them, like an oil line, few fittings, and heater core. What I saved on the heatercore made me happy enough that their shipping was slower than ****. I'd never buy anything major from them.

They accidentally sent a part I ordered to an old address. They missed during the email exchange that I had a new address. They immediately sent out another part once I notified them of the error.

I think the issue is people. Sometimes you get the right person and your experience is good. I've been lucky and have had good experiences, but I do prefer to have all of my dealings via email so I have a record of what was said.

I bought some stuff from them, everything came except that I got someone else's invoice, for totally different products.

Wow that's messed up they wouldn't get you the correct part quicker. I'll never buy from them if that's the way the handle the customers when THEY make a mistake. That 20 bucks they saved from not giving you quicker shipping will cost them much more, as myself and others will not buy from them.

But to tell the truth, I ordered a book from Begi and after 2 weeks of it not showing up, I called to find out the order had never been processed. Turns out they "misplaced" my order. They shipped it free but only regular ground shipping, same as what FM is doing to you. I was quite disapointed they didn't send it quicker after I had been waiting for 2 weeks on a book that THEY FORGOT to ship. So I'm not in a hurry to purchase anything else from them any time soon either.

If it's handled how it usually is, we'll wait until FM responds and then close it.

I get the feeling sometimes that they do WANT to give the good customer service that they did before and what they are known for. They have just got a bit too big for it now.

I messed up an endlink when I removed the stock sway bars and called them to get a new one (I told them I only needed one!) from their salvage department. They said that they had 2 in and since I just bought the complete suspension kit from them, they would send me the endlinks and just charge for shipping. Nice! Not a lot of money but a nice gesture. Then nothing happened. I called and asked a week later. The answer was: "Oh yeah, I remember that! But one of the endlinks we had were broken, so we didn't send them." They had my number and my email but did nothing, just didn't send the stuff. That turns an attempt to good service into a slightly nonchalant way of treating a customer. And it kept my car for another week in the garage.

you had downtime from just a sway bar endlink? Your car can drive fine without sway bars. granted that you may not like the way it feels, but i wouldn't consider it downtime.

ya know FM has a database of mt.net members, so if you're on that list you're pretty much guaranteed crappy service :gay:
