why not stick the FE-3 in the Miata with a smaller turbo. That car would be a freaking blast with a 2560 or so.

Pretty cool, either way. The stock rebuild from kia is a pretty nice deal, how's the quality of the rods? Still pretty beefy like the originals?

You have no idea how many times that idea runs around in my head. Its all there and turbo ready. A 2560 would be way too small for the FE3, that head flows better stock than a worked bp head. Even though I have it in a wrong wheeled drive platform, its still fun to drive. That motor screams under boost till redline and it feels like it wants more. But I still have goals for it while it rests under the hood of my beloved mx6, so it will stay there(for a while)

Lets just say that when I rebuilt my engine at my friends shop, alot of honda guys were asking if my rods belonged to a big block v8. They look plenty strong and have been holding up well to sub 300hp levels, on a chinacharger too. I made 265hp290ft/tq on a chinacharger @ 15psi, although the tune was far from perfect, 300hp isn't far from my reach. Even if I had a 450hp goal, the rods would be at the bottom of the list of parts to upgrade.

I'm just saying that arguing over the origin of a product designed for our foreign car of choice is kind of silly. It's not like a majority of the money we've spent on our cars hasn't been going overseas anyway.

It's unfortunate that the shop in California is getting the ax and that Garrett is supposedly taking a hit on quality, but to all of a sudden have people getting into heated arguments defending an American company that sells parts for Japanese cars moving their productions to Mexico and China, seems a bit smug.

Hey, it's just my opinion nothing more. We can't all have 1000+ posts, some of us have lives outside of the internet.

I'm just saying that this thread died 4 months ago, and you brought it back to say nothing significant. You've just let everyone who cares to read know that you have no forum etiquette and therefore your opinion is worth ****.

It is generally considered bad form to bring a thread back from the dead more than a few weeks unless it is a technical thread and you have new technical data that adds to the thread. It is ALWAYS bad form to dig up an old thread to voice your "opinion" about something. Don't be an ***, just use this as a learning experience on proper forum behavior.

I didn't notice that it was 4 months old, I believe it was still on the first or second page of the "general miata chat".

I guess I thought that since it's up there and not closed that I could still post on it, my apologies. From now on, i'll only post on topics that have been started less than a week ago.

I honestly don't care either way about the garrett situation, i've got a shanghai s kit on the way from begi that i'm pretty sure is made in china anyway, at least the turbo.

Pull this bullshit again and you'll be power-banned and I'm not kidding. I didn't put up with this kind of **** in Cambodia 1783, and I'm not going to put up with it now. I lived off pig-guts and bovine urine enemas for a solid month for one kill, just one kill...I can't bear to read necroposts after that.

^^^^ I'm not sure if your joking or not, but that cambodia **** is funny!

Again, I apologize about posting on an old thread. It came up on a search for gt2554 and I didn't realize how old it was, I just started reading it and posted what I was thinking after reading through the first few pages.

I asked this question to a moderator already but haven't gotten a response yet... on this message board, when is a thread too old to reply to? And if it is too old to reply to, then why don't the mods close it?

Next time, why don't you just PM me before you post, asking permission with the link in question, and I'll make the decision for you.

Are you going to take that ****, bro? It would be a cold day before I'd let anyone call me a ***** and back down. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the respect you've appropriately and wisely afforded me, but if someone called me a "*****" I'd probably "pull that fool through a hole" for that kind of disrespect.

PM nudes of your GF to me and I'll consider closing the thread.

For the record, that **** and I shared a moment which took me to a place so sweet that few have ever experienced. Nothing will ever come between that **** and I...nothing.

etiquette

Watch your spelling or I'm banning you next. If Sam Navy is a douche-bag, then you are my dead grandmother's colostomy bag. We do not tolerate that kind of disrespect here. We are a decent people, here, the Illuminati, and bottom feeder beta males are not welcome.

Actually, I'm a pretty big deal around here... ask anybody. I wouldn't exactly call what I said "cussing out" either. In fact, I was fairly polite. You'll notice in Flounders immediate response to my post, he was actually apologetic for committing a very common forum transgression. He knows how to behave and made a mistake... but he's still gonna get a little ribbing froum the locals for doing it. It doesn't even take a tough skin... just a sense of humor. A little hazing now and again is extremely healthy for a forum, otherwise we would turn into a bunch of pussies who think all of our opinions are just as important as everybody elses like in the Prius forums. The opinion of NOOBs are simply not important. The instant a forum allows a 17yr-old text-typing retard think he matters, it dies a llittle... just go have a look at any DSM or Cobalt forum. Around here, you have to earn a little respect before you can talk ****... but in the end, it's all in good fun.

If you'd like to know exactly how good I am at this forum thing, go to the Meet&Greet Forum and read both of the Sticky's.

By the way, your opinion (with a grand total of 10posts) doesn't count for **** either. Hang out a couple of months, contribute something useful from a technical standpoint, and we'll talk again.
