Garrett Turbos...The end of a quality product
#82
Lets just say that when I rebuilt my engine at my friends shop, alot of honda guys were asking if my rods belonged to a big block v8. They look plenty strong and have been holding up well to sub 300hp levels, on a chinacharger too. I made 265hp290ft/tq on a chinacharger @ 15psi, although the tune was far from perfect, 300hp isn't far from my reach. Even if I had a 450hp goal, the rods would be at the bottom of the list of parts to upgrade.

I'm just saying that arguing over the origin of a product designed for our foreign car of choice is kind of silly. It's not like a majority of the money we've spent on our cars hasn't been going overseas anyway.
It's unfortunate that the shop in California is getting the ax and that Garrett is supposedly taking a hit on quality, but to all of a sudden have people getting into heated arguments defending an American company that sells parts for Japanese cars moving their productions to Mexico and China, seems a bit smug.
Hey, it's just my opinion nothing more. We can't all have 1000+ posts, some of us have lives outside of the internet.

I'm just saying that this thread died 4 months ago, and you brought it back to say nothing significant. You've just let everyone who cares to read know that you have no forum etiquette and therefore your opinion is worth ****.
It is generally considered bad form to bring a thread back from the dead more than a few weeks unless it is a technical thread and you have new technical data that adds to the thread. It is ALWAYS bad form to dig up an old thread to voice your "opinion" about something. Don't be an ***, just use this as a learning experience on proper forum behavior.

I didn't notice that it was 4 months old, I believe it was still on the first or second page of the "general miata chat".
I guess I thought that since it's up there and not closed that I could still post on it, my apologies. From now on, i'll only post on topics that have been started less than a week ago.
I honestly don't care either way about the garrett situation, i've got a shanghai s kit on the way from begi that i'm pretty sure is made in china anyway, at least the turbo.

^^^^ I'm not sure if your joking or not, but that cambodia **** is funny!
Again, I apologize about posting on an old thread. It came up on a search for gt2554 and I didn't realize how old it was, I just started reading it and posted what I was thinking after reading through the first few pages.
I asked this question to a moderator already but haven't gotten a response yet... on this message board, when is a thread too old to reply to? And if it is too old to reply to, then why don't the mods close it?

Are you going to take that ****, bro? It would be a cold day before I'd let anyone call me a ***** and back down. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the respect you've appropriately and wisely afforded me, but if someone called me a "*****" I'd probably "pull that fool through a hole" for that kind of disrespect.

For the record, that **** and I shared a moment which took me to a place so sweet that few have ever experienced. Nothing will ever come between that **** and I...nothing.

Watch your spelling or I'm banning you next. If Sam Navy is a douche-bag, then you are my dead grandmother's colostomy bag. We do not tolerate that kind of disrespect here. We are a decent people, here, the Illuminati, and bottom feeder beta males are not welcome.

If you'd like to know exactly how good I am at this forum thing, go to the Meet&Greet Forum and read both of the Sticky's.
By the way, your opinion (with a grand total of 10posts) doesn't count for **** either. Hang out a couple of months, contribute something useful from a technical standpoint, and we'll talk again.
