Default I feel like my car is falling apart

So I posted about a week ago about my car having bad blow-by all of the sudden and making strange noises( sounds like the lifters aren't very lubed). Get this the other day I took a hard turn and it sounded like something broke inside my dash then when ever I slowed down/accelerated or turned I could hear it sliding around and hitting things. Then I took another turn and it slide and sounded like it lodged in a crevasse or something cause it quit moving. Then the other day coming home from work I accelerated quick to get over and let off and all of the sudden I heard this loud banging noise I will describe it for you. ( Imagine a small piece of metal with a chain tied to it banging around in your front left wheel well and it wont stop cause the chain is holding it in there. ) Thats what it sounded like. It was extremely loud. It stopped then did it again then stopped again. Haven't heard it since. IDK what is going on. I have to get my engine fixed.... I guess I will drive my car slow until I do but it is really hard considering I drive my car to the fullest whenever I'm in it. ( Taking turns quick revmatching.... high rpms accelerating quick) I don't think there is a point for me to get a turbo and coilovers and other mods unless you actually use them, and since I don't autoX much and dont have a membership to the local track MSR of Houston ( memberships are extremely expensive) I drive it hard. What do yall think it would cost to crack open the engine and replace the rings. I don't have the time or the skill IMO to that task.

Hey doug, maybe make a few paragraphs because that was kind of hard to read.

And the 1200 dollars you were estimated was way high according to my pops, im thinking you should call around to all the local speedshops/shops if you want a better price- for 1200 you should be getting rods/pistons installed as well..

As for the breaking off piece, do all your switches and accessories still work? It might of been a clip for your hood cluster cover or something, my whole cluster hood broke into about 40 pieces the other day when i bottomed out the suspension on a huge ******* pothole..

And honestly.. the **** in the wheel- if you dont hear it anymore i really wouldn't worry about it man..

But i know EXACTLY how you feel, sometimes i ******* despise my car its that bad.. then other times i realize how ******* sick it is.

Good luck bro

a leakdown test will quickly tell you the condition of the motor, and what (if anything) is mechanically wrong.

Maybe ya left a tool under the hood in the wiper tray area - I've done this 2x and it makes some weird noise when you take a turn hard :-)

Im almost 100% sure this is where he has had all his work done. This is the same guy that wants to charge him way to much to do the work, though the work is top notch.

I feel for ya doug, i wish i still lived there so i could help you out- if your cars still in that condition when i get out there again we will just tackle it.

clint charges what he does for a reason. His shop has produced several top notch SPEC cars, as well as having customers come from surrounding States to have him work on cars. They are a bit higher but not outrageous and I am sure if he talked to him maybe something could worked out.

I do most of my own work but have also had him touch all my miatas at one point or another since he worked out of his garage at his house. He gives great customer care and will not let a car go unless it is 100%. His reputation depends on it. Example he replaced a shortnose crank motor my friends car that had already been replaced once by another shop. He got the car and did the entire swap in 1 day. He also do other minor things to the car at no charge while it was there. He proceeded to follow up with the owner of the car after a few days had gone by to see if he was pleased.

Clint is a great guy and worth every penny.

The quote you are thinking it is for a new motor is probably for a crate mazda motor. Not a rebuild or used motor.
