Default 94 1.8 ecu in NB?

i was kinda curious, i've heard of people doing this but havent really seen anything on it, but i bought this CAS from a 1.8 that i was gonna use for megasquirt but i ditched the idea and decided to go EMU, and then i was thinking would i be able to swap in a 94 ECU? with the cas and maybe switching some wires around on my harness. i want to go turbo, i already have a gt28r an hks manifold, turbo xs BOV, and custom piping, i was wondering if i'd be able to get away with using an older 1.8 ecu to adjust my timing, while i get the final peices in for my turbo. would i get any gains by doing this? i've heard OBDI would be alot easier to tune on my car. well i'm open to any suggestions or comments

the problem lies not with the ECU, but with your block. research on why the NB timing isn't adjustable.... changing ECUs won't fix it.

Stick with MS and you'll be able to adjust your timing.
It's really not bad, now that i've done a '99 some of the guesswork is gone.

cjernigan, i might have lean on you like a crutch so i can figure out this whole MS deal, i have to do the miata mods on the MS, and then i would need an iat and a cas wired to it, but it's the wiring i haven't been able to figure out, i guess i've been waiting around from something more comprehensive on MS

If you really are planning on goin with MS I will figure out what wire colors you need to use to hok it up if you want. On page 2 of one of the stickys it lists the colors and wire numbers for a 91 and u jsut have to double check those to the diffrences between the 99

that'd be great, i think something like taht might also be a great addition to the MS forum, as there is nothing really for NB's

i really like this forum, as long as you don't bring up something already stickied, everyone is really helpful

I have the colors for a '99 already figured out. I have them in a spreadsheet. Let me know when you want them.
You don't need an IAT the stocker works fine.

so all i really need to get up and running is the cas? if possible can i get them? and i'm sure they won't differ at all or much in 2000. i might just ride on your coat tails to success on this one. lol

Yeah just the CAS and within a week or two i should have a msq that you could load and run off of to get started no problem. 2000 wire colors should be the same. Might want to check madracki though.
Here's the wire colors I have, if you need them in a different format than excel let me know.
