im happy now with how the car is, i think its good to go to the dyno, i had some issues that are now worked out(car was running in rpm accel and launch control was turned on, thats why it reved like ****) now it runs much nicer. i do have some valvetrain tick. im not horibly worried about that its solid shim under bucket, once its dyno'd and fully broken in under load, ill go back and re-shim it.

i do have one concern though
at the moment i dont have a thermostat in the car. now i understand it wont let the car heat up fast, in my log i took yesterday the car held between 179 and 197 thats pretty much where i have the fan set to. the reason im reluctant to put one back in is my turbo coolant feed comes from the port on the block near the tranny, goes into the turbo then the return comes out of the turbo and goes to the radiator end tank. my thoughts on this car sence the rad isnt circulating cooland when the thermostat is closed, then my turbo is not circulating it either?? im thinking the best solution other than changing my turbo lines is to get a 160* thermostat and drill like two 3/16 holes in it so that some water can continue to circulate

Nawww

I think we need 100 more posts about how "drifting isnt really racing, its just a show", "But it still requires skill and control, just like real racing"

Oh, and we need psiturbo to post again how ctdrftna is just wasting money and should have just bought an ebay turbo kit like him and it would have been just as fast.

AHHHHHHHH FML!!!!!!!!!!

i go to work on the car tonight and the ******* radiator has a leak in the core. WTF how does this **** happen. the car has been sitting since last weekend.
1st the ECU ****, then the dyno appointment gets all fucked up. now this.

im ready to break down and part the car out and move on with my life, obviously someone doesnt want to see this thing done.

of course this has to go down two weeks before the dyno session which means i need to overnight a damn radiator to my house with bungs and have the thing welded up and ready to go in next sunday. a $300 setback. i swear to god if i get to my dyno session and something goes wrong. this whole car is gonna be up for sale. and im gonna be rockin a evo x

It's a project car, you gotta expect problems. You sound like vash now lol, when you put together a car from scratch you are gonna run into some issues, just work out all the little problems and your car will be good to go soon. Btw why can't you just weld the leak?

cause its in the center of the core. atleast thats what it looks like. ive calmed down a bit. im gonna bring it to a radiator repair shop tomm and have it pressure tested and possibly fixed. sometimes they can crimp off a tube in the core to seal the leak. i have alot of time into my rad, with bungs and tabs and **** i would hate to have to do up a new one

My thoughts exactly....My rad had a leak in the core last year, Perraults in Meriden welded it and she's been good since.

my mishimoto whenever you drain and refill it has a minor leak until you drive it for an hour... i mean a drip every 25-30 seconds so its not alot.

minor problems happen dude... thats why not everyone has a 400whp miata (or 4-800hp car in general typically)

I hope the best for you

Drain adiator, remove, used JB weld to fix.

I bought a Koyo brand new from Goodwin years ago, and before they had a warning abotu the A/C lines rubbing a hole in the radiator and it happened to me. Slapped some JB and it was fine for 3 years with TONS of abuse..was still holding fine when I sold the car.

Believe me, you will have more God forsaken issues. Be patient.

Go **** some chick or take a Lexapro, which ever is most readily available.
