I keep telling people that you must have one of these in your garage:
Approved Vendor 2EE44 Thread Measuring Gage
It will save you infinite hassle.
That looks like a ASTM heavy hex bolt...and if you could tell the diameter and thread pitch with the above gauge you'd know for sure.
I've drawn (and made) so many of these...I'd say that one's a 7/8"-9UNC x 3 1/2"

Well then I feel like an idiot. I went out there later that night with a hammer and screw driver and pried it out of the ground. It took like 10 mins. of dodging cars and hitting it with a hammer to knock it out and it wasn't even my bolt.
