Need an Engine: So Cal
Well,
Driving down the I-10 and my engine just froze up. Took it to a mechanic and he thinks it's gone. He tried to turn the crank but it wouldn't budge. I should hear back from him today for confirmation but I'm thinking I'll need to replace the head, bottom end, and top at most while saving the rest.
I was wondering if anybody knew some good sources in the So Cal area. I can't do this myself. I'll have to pay somebody to do the work but I don't want to do this on the cheap either. I would like to save on some shipping costs though, if possible.
Thanks!

That's a possibilty. My fan died and my car did overheat on the freeway probably 100 or so miles ago. I didn't notice any oil, but my car did run rough intermittently. What sucks is that my car had been in the body shop for a few weeks getting fresh paint and body work after I got rearended. I was going to run it to the mechanic to get the engine checked when it died.
Any suggestions for a fix?
